Corporate-Owned Media: ''Bush Seeks to Restore Tattered U.S. Image...''
A. Alexander, December 26th, 2007

It would appear that America's corporate-owned media is going to pretend that the nation's tattered image abroad has nothing to do with the guy currently occupying the White House. Do these people posing as journalists, anchors and editors honestly believe that no one can see through the propaganda? The corporate media honchos must think that they're too smart for everyone; otherwise there is no way that they would print a headline like this:

"Bush Seeks to Restore Tattered U.S. Image With Heavy '08 Travel"

Bush to restore tattered U.S. image ... George W. Bush? Umm ... here's a clue: Bush IS the tattered U.S. image. If he wanted to "restore" the "tattered U.S. image," he would send Cheney to Congress to be impeached and then, without pause, resign as President of the United States. Those two simple acts and ten or eleven generations later and maybe, but only maybe, the nation's "tattered" image might begin to recover.

When people around the globe think of America, they think of Mister Bush and then they think of tortured human beings; they think of Bush and then they think of an illegal invasion and occupation of a country that did NOTHING to the United States; they think of Bush and then they think of secret prisons; and they think of Bush and then they think of the U.S. doing everything imaginable to undermine any hope of finding a solution to global warming.

Yet, the corporate-owned media persists in its insistence that Mister Bush isn't the problem with America's global image. Instead, they peddle Soviet Pravda-like headlines that say Bush is setting out to rescue the United States' image. If they think they're conning the American people ... okay, at least a few. But if the corporate-owned media folks really think that they're fooling the global community, they're downright daft!

Sending Bush out to "restore" the "tattered U.S. image" is like sending Senator Larry Craig out to "restore" peoples' faith in marital monogamy. Actually, it is like sending out disgraced former Republican Representative Mark Foley, known for stalking teenaged boys, to "restore" a child's lost innocence. Indeed, sending Bush out to "restore" the "tattered U.S. image" is like sending the Grand Wizard of the KKK out to "restore" race relations.

What's next: "Corporate-Owned Media Seeks to Restore American Peoples' Faith in Journalistic Excellence"?

Oh, well, corporate-owned media probably believes that the people are ignorant enough to fall for that too. Sadly, too many people are probably just about that ignorant ... and they all believe that Rush Limbaugh and Glenn Beck are honest men.

3. If Bush wanted to restore the "tattered U.S. image", he
should just go in hiding for a year. No, better yet, he should resign!

Good article.

5. If they see this as P.R. that would favor the boy king, how are they going to manage to stack the
audiences? He's too hated around the world & people in other countries are more free to show their contempt. How does the media plan to present these P.R. clips? This will be interesting.

9. the pigmedia's a frigging disgrace...
the reactionarky trick, the basic idea of overcoming the inherent good sense of an electorate, and confound, confuse, enough of the said electorate, is to misrepresent the facts in such a way as to create a mis-understanding of the situation. For example, a child is kidnapped from mall in a city, the news uses the beautiful child/awful kidnapper to create sense of danger, of lawlessness in the city, and thus more cops are hired, more jail built and all this creates a rightward tilt in the local politics. So year after year isolated incidences are used to create fear and anger, which create fear and anger in large part of population etc etc....
In Other Words, the media lies, and its lies become normal, but the basic notion somehow escapes notice, and we end up with corrupt media, thus a corrupt politics, thus a corrupt society....and the entrenched interests must be isolated as liars...because EVEN IF they aren't lying right now, their whole approach going back many years was dishonesty.
-reagan never was elected if the media was honest... AND THIS FACT TRUMPS ALL OTHERS!
-The MIIC (military industrial/intelligence complex) would never have grown into monsterous proportions
- millions of people murdered by the work of the liars would have lived, including the Kennedys, the leaders of dozens of other nations, Malcolm X, Pope John Paul 1st, John Lennon, including Senator Wellstone, Hunter Thompson and such heroes as Gary Webb and James Hatfield etc...
They (the PIGmedia) are liars and they help to murder our heroes!
We should shout this truth from the rooftops...
