Look at this guy! In my honest opinion, if he somehow becomes President, it will create a country in which our founding fathers were completely opposed to. Isn't there a belief in our "democracy" that there should be a separation of church and state??? The fact that a former minister could be in the white house is completely absurd and outrageous.

This will be another reason why the Muslim population fears the US and Christian belief system... if Huckabee represents the United States, it will only create more of a reason for the world to think we are a bunch of Christians looking to dominate the world. Especially after Bush!!!!!

"The fact that a former minister could be in the white house is completely absurd and outrageous."

I don't find the fact that he is a former minister to be either offensive nor unconstitutional; after all, the Constitution stipulates that there shall be no religious test for serving in public office.

It is his willingness, as you noted, to breakdown the wall of separation between Church and State which is both dangerous and offensive.

This is why the makeup of the Supreme Court is so important; to keep officials from carrying out plans in direct contravention of the spirit of the Constitution.

Unfortunately, I don't see much hope for protection coming from the current bunch...

Can you imagine the Justices Huckabee might nominate?

2. It May Be Necessary For Lots of Dems to Cross Over to Defeat Him in the Primaries
If he is nominated, Hilary or Obama will not be able to beat him.

If the race is down to those 2 as the primaries get near, some of us may have to become Republicans for a few weeks to stave off disaster.

3. Huckabee could not win against Huckabee.
Although he may survive to get the GOP nomination, there is no way that Huckabee could win the general. First place, nobody who voted for Gore or Kerry will vote for him, and that's ALREADY more votes than he'll get from rethugnants. Second, a lot of rethugs who would hold their nose and vote for Guiliani, Romney or McCain, won't do the same for Huckabee, due to his weakness on Taxes, Borders and Crime, and -- especially -- his recent put-downs of crazy King George.

4. don't believe it
I'm sorry.....call me niave....I don't believe for a second he will be the nominee.
He will do well here in Iowa. Remember that Pat Robertson was barely beat out by GHWB in 92.
Then very shortly after that the Christian Coalition took over the Iowa Republican party. It was one of the first states they claimed victory in on their Jihad.
Their are still remnants of that structure hear. The Evangelical whack jobs know this is where they have a chance...
He'll be an asterisk in history after Iowa.
