Will Clinton and Edwards cut a deal in Iowa?
In 2004, Kucinich cut a deal with Edwards to transfer supporters to each other during the caucuses if one had extras to spare and the other could reach 15% with those spares. I don't see that happening this time around for a few reasons, but I wonder if Clinton and Edwards might do it to weaken Obama?

What do you think?

1. Nope
Edwards and Kucinich are very close on many issues, so I can understand this, and I do see it happening again. However, the positions of Hillary and Edwards are miles apart. I don't see any deal making between the campaigns.

3. I agree, but no way were Kucinich and Edwards close in 2004.
On health, the war, and other issues, Kucinich was closer to Dean- he just couldn't stand that Dean "stole" his anti-war constituency to such a large degree.

5. They were after different voters in 2004
Edwards wanted centrist Gephardt voters. Kucinich wanted the more leftist anti-war Dean voters. Policy compatibility doesn't and didn't enter into it, in fact the opposite. They weren't competing, just as Clinton and Edwards aren't competing for the same voting base this year.

6. you'd be wrong
Edwards and Kucinich are worlds apart in 2007 - and there's no way that deal would happen again.

4. No, because JRE is in a fine spot to WIN iowa.
With his support in the rural areas, which are more heavily weighted then urban areas, a fact which no polling takes into account, I would predict a victory for JRE in Iowa.

8. No, but if an intelligent, politically savvy person, who

understands how the Iowa caucuses work looks at the poll numbers, understands JRE's support is high in the rural areas, would see that he is indeed in a great position to win Iowa. Sorry jack, but you ignorance shows. Edited to add: Happy Holidays!:toast:

9. Isn't that how the caucus system is set up to work?
Deals, yelling, harrassing, promising, pulling and tugging people to and fro in church basemenets?

10. Yes, but, a deal ahead of time is what I mean
As Kucinich and Edwards did.
