Poll question: What presidential candidate would sing -O Holy Night- the best?
Click to hear the song, which I think is one of the moe difficult to sing melodically:
http://wilstar.com/xmas/midi/oholynite.mid

Here are the lyrics:

O Holy Night! The stars are brightly shining,
It is the night of the dear Saviour's birth.
Long lay the world in sin and error pining.
Till He appeared and the Spirit felt its worth.
A thrill of hope the weary world rejoices,
For yonder breaks a new and glorious morn.
Fall on your knees! Oh, hear the angel voices!
O night divine, the night when Christ was born;
O night, O Holy Night , O night divine!
O night, O Holy Night , O night divine!

Led by the light of faith serenely beaming,
With glowing hearts by His cradle we stand.
O'er the world a star is sweetly gleaming,
Now come the wisemen from out of the Orient land.
The King of kings lay thus lowly manger;
In all our trials born to be our friends.
He knows our need, our weakness is no stranger,
Behold your King! Before him lowly bend!
Behold your King! Before him lowly bend!

1. This song takes a lot of range
I think most people are better off avoiding it. :P

10. That's why it's so great. It's a really . . . innovative approach to the national anthem.

22. To her credit, she makes jokes about her tone-deafness
She made a crack about it when she won her grammy.

6. I'm going with Dennis for "O Holy Night" as his follow-up hit to "16 Tons."
And I don't give a hoot in hell who didn't like Kucinich singing "16 Tons." I liked it.

17. Hi, gately. Here it is:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iGmYhTYLbno

The page is not complimentary, but you can hear the man sing the song.

It had become a source of derision on DU and elsewhere, but I think it sounded pretty good.

20. Hey, OC!
:hi:

I don't know how anybody could diss him on this -- he did a great job with his speech, and a great job with the song! Good for him!

It's like the vid of Hillary singing the Star Spangled Banner (ouch!) but then she used that footage in one of her commercials and it was great!

It says a lot about people when they're able to poke fun at themselves or are able to let down their guard and have fun in "public".

Thanks for this!

this Edwards supporter to a Biden supporter.

You may already have seen it, but there's a pretty good article by Mike Barnicle in the NY Daily News today on the Clinton and Giuliani campaigns. With Obama now leading in NH, it's timely analysis.

It's brief, and ordinarily I don't care for Barnicle.

But to be fair, he does pretty well with this one.

I'll try to find the link and revisit this post and put it up for you.
