The horror! rethugs like Clinton, too?
I think this is so positive - for EVERY candidate.

In N.H., Clinton Cites Bipartisan Work

By Patrick Healy

CONCORD, N.H. – Two Republican voters appeared with Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton at a campaign event here Friday afternoon to reinforce her message-of-the-day: She has worked well with Republicans in the Senate, and she would work as president with Republicans to enact universal health care, combat global warming, and pursue new energy and education policies.

The New Hampshire primary, on Jan. 8, allows independent voters to cast ballots for presidential candidates in either party, and one of Mrs. Clinton’s leading rivals, Senator Barack Obama, is widely seen as running strong with that part of the electorate. So today, by citing her work in the past with Newt Gingrich, Lindsey Graham, Bill Frist, James Inhofe, and other Republicans, Mrs. Clinton was making a play for independents who might appreciate a little bipartisan spirit.

“As president, I’ll do something George Bush has failed to do – work with the other party to get things done,” Mrs. Clinton said. “The way that I say it, making change is not about politics or personalities – it’s about standing up for what you believe and finding others to stand with you.”

So: Does “Republicans for Hillary” have legs as a voter bloc?

1. Well, It's A Better Fit Than "Democrats For Hillary"
Edited on Fri Dec-21-07 08:46 PM by MannyGoldstein
The Clintons have triangulated themselves into being, effectively, Republicans - at least on the votes and issues that matter most.

2. Most rethug politicians don't/won't work with ANYONE outside the rethug party.........
and certainly won't promote and support non-neocon ideas and issues. Sorry HRC, you're dreaming and we're no fools.

3. It depends on who they run.
If they chose the wrong candidate, it actually could have legs as a voting bloc. Huckabee could isolate jewish or secular conservatives for instance, and Hillary could ending up swiping some of their votes.

7. We need more than a wing and a prayer....
"She has worked well with Republicans in the Senate, and she would work as president with Republicans to enact universal health care, combat global warming, and pursue new energy and education policies".

Well...let's look at her "experience" at universal health care....she is experienced at failure. Funny she is touting working with Gingrich! Gingrich killed her health care more than any other congress-critter!

With cooperation like that, can we expect any more success?

The Reps are opposed to universal health care, combatting global warming and new energy and education policies. Granted, compromise is necessary to get things done.

However, look at reality folks. If Hillary is elected in november, it will be a miracle. The very best we can hope for is a squeaker. And that means no coat tails. So we won't have a Congress receptive for any meaningful changes in these issues.

We need to nominate Obama, Edwards, Biden....they could help elect a solid Democratic majority in both houses of Congress. Instead of trying to win on a wing and a prayer.
