Who the Republicans want to run against, in order. (Top Tier)
1) Barack Obama

2) Hillary Clinton

3) John Edwards

This is about as plain as anything gets in politics.

(The Republicans may be incorrect in their analysis, but that's another matter.)

6. I think they want Hillary. They've been pushing her on us for the better
part of a year. One can only imagine the dirt locked in the RNC safe.

7. I agree. They are salivating for a Hillary nomination.
They know that's their best/only chance to beat us, even in a year when they are as popular as the plague. No one has the baggage, or the ability to fire up the Republican base (and to turn off a good chunk of our base) like Hillary.

11. Oh, yeah...they have been holding all the dirt back...
...they never used it before because they were waiting for the right moment...:eyes:

Obama is the number 1 easiest candidate to beat come November. The repugs would love to have us elect him.

12. That's why the polls show the exact opposite.
You underestimate the Hillary hatred on the right. She, more than anyone else, will unite the Republicans. And, as for dirt, I won't write what I think they've got because I don't want to be responsible for trashing a Democratic candidate - even one I don't care for.

13. Most excellent point...
While people in m area, (R's), think that the GOP is toast, they truly want Hillary to run just because they think she is the one that can get crushed.

When I ask why she is so despised, I never get a logical answer, there is just something visceral about her that gets the R blood up. Some try to say it about Bill, some try to say it is some other abstract idea, but none of them have anything they can put their finger on. the dislike is intense, ad could be a catalyst to bring R's together, even if they don't know why.

FWIW...(I am not a supporter of anyone at this point), I think it is because she is female, intelligent and able...that scares the hell out of any R. The thought to them of an intelligent female in charge is a recipe for disaster.

10. Note their silence re Edwards. They're keeping their powder dry, because

they're going to NEED every bit of it.

Obama also would be a problem, somewhat a lesser problem, but still a problem for them.

They want Hillary. They're "setting her up" as we speak, because they **think** she's a win:win for them; SHE MIGHT NOT BE, but that's what they think.
