Romney: It Depends On What The Meaning Of "Saw" Is
ROMNEY DEFENDS MLK MARCH REMARK

..."The reference of seeing my father lead in civil rights," (Mitt Romney) said, "and seeing my father march with Martin Luther King is in the sense of this figurative awareness of and recognition of his leadership."

"I've tried to be as accurate as I can be," he continued..."If you look at the literature or look at the dictionary, the term 'saw' includes being aware of -- in the sense I've described...When we say I saw the Patriots win the World Series, it doesn't necessarily mean you were there." (He meant the Super Bowl, of course.)

11. Sportsgasm
I'm with Mitt Romney on this one. I once was invited to watch a sporting event but I just can't follow all those tall sweaty black guys up and down the field hitting home runs and field goals and dribbling rim shots while the announcer is yelling "SCORE" and then there's that whole "love" stuff in the scoring that really confuses me. Maybe he's more mentally tuned to watching the car races where the only rule is "Go fast and turn left".

That wooden puppet of the Repuglican Puppet Masters just wants to become a real boy so bad but he just can't stop lying. Perhaps it isn't lying if he doesn't know he's lying. In order to be a Mormon for any length of time over a decade one has to suspend reality, deny factual or overwhelming evidence of anything scientific or that has a balanced chronology, and close ones eyes to all the mounting documentation of the fraud that swirls around them. It seems more and more viable that Mitt does not posses the ability to process reality, to connect with those outside his pretty little world and to process his past in any form of truth. Don't blame him, he was raised this way.

12. Did you pull over and cry when they let tall sweaty black guys into the major leagues?

13. Mormon Curtain and Rose Colored Glasses
I grew up in the Morg (in Utah of all places) and anyone of color was a novelty or paraded around as some poster child of our "progressive tolerance". The silly ideas and prejudices infused in the pastey white population is sadly hilarious and I could make a whole book of gaffes and blatantly stupid things I've heard devout Mormons say in regards to anyone not "like them". My statement was a parody of the typical Mormon attitude toward anyone of color or race that is different than the typical Mormons, not a personal bias.

3. the issue isn't whether he literally saw his father march
but whether his father did march with MLK, which is in doubt.

6. There isn't any doubt
Romney's father, though supportive of Dr. King, never marched with him. For far less than this, Democratic candidates are branded as "serial exaggerators" who will "say anything" to get elected. Sit back and enjoy the locutional gymnastics the popular media will demonstrate to avoid calling Mittens a liar.

14. But if Romney Sr. DIDN'T march with MLK, there was nothing TO see

Which makes Romney Jr.'s statement a problem indeed. And don't be so quick to accuse him of being a liar--it's also possible that he's just stark raving stupid.

15. Keep on digging, Mitt! There is light at the bottom of that there hole!
Maybe you better dig a little more to the right to make the wingnuts happy because you aren't going to get any help from the left. That's the ticket.
