FOX News Poll:: Clinton 49% Obama 20% Edwards 10%

A FOX News poll released Thursday shows Hillary Clinton continues to have a significant lead over Barack Obama in the race for the Democratic Party’s nomination, despite being seen as the main candidate practicing dirty politics. Democrats explicitly say Clinton has the right experience and is a strong leader, and twice as many say Clinton rather than Obama can bring about needed change.

The national telephone poll was conducted for FOX News by Opinion Dynamics Corp. among 900 registered voters from Dec. 18 to 19. The poll has a 3-point error margin.

Clinton receives the backing of 49 percent of Democrats, up from 44 percent last month, and Obama is at 20 percent today, down from 23 percent. John Edwards comes in third at 10 percent. All other Democratic contenders receive the support of 3 percent or less, and 12 percent are undecided.

To put Clinton’s current 29-point edge in perspective, looking back at the past six months her lead over Obama has been as wide as 32 points (early October) and as narrow as just 13 points (in August).

1. This is a national poll. It's neck and neck in the early states. NT

5. I think she might lose Iowa. I think Edwards could take it.
And Dodd may do better than people think. And Richardson could surprise too. IA never performs to expectations.

Of course, an ice storm could screw the entire dynamic.

I think she'll take NH, though. SC is anyone's guess.

And then, we'll have to see what Super Tuesday brings...

11. It depends on the person, I guess. Porgie wanted it to "show Paw" that he could do a better job.
Clinton wanted it to build a bridge to the 21st Century .... then Porgie burnt that bridge.

Whoever gets the gig this time is gonna have to rebuild the bridge AND give us some fuel efficient cars so we can drive over it!!!

3. Obama's through, as he would be anyway if...
He was a white candidate who hired a white supremest to emcee one of his fund-raisers, in which the white supremest used the platform to spew racist garbage. That would've gotten the MSM's attention! McClurkin didn't, but that sure would've. White, racist-hiring Obama would've dropped out of the race and been drummed out of politics altogether.

Go Hillary, the anti-Obama!

4. These National Polls are filled with people who have not even researched the candidates

They are basically worthless. The early states are the best indicator of what people will do once they look at each candidate closely.

12. Polls aside, they seem to be praising Obama to the skies. If I were him, I'd look askance.
I don't watch Fox normally, but we have company over the holiday, and one of our guests had it on. Obama got a lot of coverage, much of it very upbeat. I think they're pushing for Obama as the D nominee--they probably figure he's easier to take out.

They might be wrong in their assessment, but that's what they could be thinking.
