If you won't support the Dem nominee, who will you vote for?
Edited on Tue Dec-18-07 07:18 PM by panader0
This in respnose to the earlier poll in which so many said no to Hillary. What would you do? Split the vote so a republic can win? Who WOULD you vote for? Would it be only a "protest vote" ? One that can never elect a candidate but just suck votes away from Dems? Tell me.
Edit to say: Hillary is not my choice, but I will vote the party.

1. I don't want Hillary to win the nomination. Having said that, I'd vote
for her in the general election in a New York minute before I would ever cast a vote for any Republican.

4. unfortunately some of the Hillary haters would vote GOP
I don't doubt, they are opposed to Hillary and don't care what they have to do as long as she loses.

17. Yup, they'll be going right back to where they came from
It'll be weird seeing half this place empty out and returning to where they came from if she gets the nod.

5. Depends on who's running at that point
If there's a decent third party candidate (NOT Ralph Nader, but perhaps Bloomberg paired with someone even more liberal than he is), I might consider him/her.

6. I will vote for the DEM nominee. Period.
Edited on Tue Dec-18-07 07:12 PM by rosesaylavee
It comes down to the fact that the next president will pick replacements for the Supreme Court. Everyone here votes for the Dem. No exceptions. This is our future as a country at stake here. Kindly leave your friggin egos alone for once.

19. Actually the more the Hillary bots force her
down my throat, the more I am thinking about not voting for the first time in 40 years. But the time the vote gets here I will probably hate her with a vengence.

26. Yes, they have been vicious against other candidates
and yet, Hillary can do no wrong. I have to say that over the last month, I really lost all respect for them. Biden's and Dodd's supporters, on the other hand, have been very respectful.

What is your assessment of the level of attacks here against Sen. Clinton and those members who support her?

29. I really wouldn't know as I don't visit
the Clinton threads. I discounted her when she voted for Kyl/Lieberman. I don't go to threads of other candidates to stir up trouble. I certainly know it's tempting, but I resist. As I made my decision for the candidate that I wanted to support, I stopped visiting the threads that were about other candidates, so that I wouldn't be tempted to open my big mouth and say something that I would regret.

But, that being said, many supporters for other candidates have not been so held back, and have decided to post on threads that had nothing to do with their candidate, but only to stir up trouble. Clinton's supporters have been the worst of them. I don't live on this forum, it is not my life, so I guess that I have missed threads in which Clinton's supporters have actually had nice words to say about other candidates. If that has been the case then I apologize to those who have manners.

24. It depends on who else is running.
If I think a 3rd party candidate is a better choice (not a protest vote, but honestly a better choice) I'll go with that. If not, I'll write in a choice.

I take my vote seriously. I will do what, after careful consideration, I consider best at the time.

I don't consider it good for the political process to narrow my choices to "the lesser of 2 evils," or to vote AGAINST candidates. I consider it best for the health of the political process, in the long run, for voters to vote for what, and for whom, they really want. I think that if the 2 major parties don't offer people what they want, they have, not just the right, but a civic responsibility to say so. With their letters, their dollars, their time and support, and, yes, their votes.
