Ex-President Bush Fires Back: I Never Agreed To Be Clinton Envoy

December 18, 2007 03:16 PM

George H. W. Bush has responded to Bill Clinton's claim that under President Hillary, the two ex-presidents would travel the world restoring America's image.

Clinton said yesterday:

Well, the first thing she intends to do, because you can do this without passing a bill, the first thing she intends to do is to send me and former President Bush and a number of other people around the world to tell them that America is open for business and cooperation again.

The media world was aflutter with the possibility: a former Republican president acting on behalf of a Democratic leadership, to repair the foreign policy failings of his own son.

Turns out Bush 41 hasn't exactly signed up for the proposal, and he's not too keen on the insinuation that W. is doing such a bad job. Former President Bush's office has just released this statement:

Former President Bush wholeheartedly supports the President of the United States, including his foreign policy. He has never discussed an "around-the-world mission" with either former President Bill Clinton or Senator Clinton, nor does he think such a mission is warranted since he is proud of the role America continues to play around the world as the beacon of home for freedom and democracy.

And just in case anyone thought H.W. Bush had so warmed to Bill Clinton that he was considering endorsing Hillary, the statement concludes:

President Bush is excited about several of the excellent Republican candidates running for President, and looks forward to supporting their candidacy once the Republican nominee is determined.

3. Clinton thought he was enough of a smooth talker

so that his brown nosing of daddy bush would soften the senile ol bastard up enough to go on the road for Hillary and trash his worthless son. I think Bubba misoverestimates his personal charm and gift of gab.

Perhaps this will teach him the futility of trying to suck up to republicon criminals.

PS: if this is how the Clinton's "stand up to the right wing smear machine" by trying to become part of it, Hillary will get ripped to shreds in the general election campaign. Perhaps it's good that we are finding that out now. She's so tough she sends Bill out to kiss poopy bush's ass.

7. Yes, just because Clinton has behaved in a civilized, non-partisan manner
And worked with Poppy for numerous causes doesn't mean that a BUSH would have the good manners to do the same.

Honestly, that family. I think they have venom instead of blood.

14. I don't think it's about
being Hillary Clinton's envoy either. I think it's about atonement to the world for that idiot son in the Whitehouse.

But then again, there are some things you just can't atone for, so why even try?
