9. The only two candidates I think can fight back
are Clinton and Edwards.

I'm voting Clinton in the primary, but I do think Edwards could fight them off as well.

13. I'd add Biden and Kucinich to that...
but they're not in the poll, and they're not going to win the nomination.

have the finances to fight the GOP

it's a sad fact, but it's still a fact.

15. Good point.
That's a better perspective. Joe and Dennis have the personal attributes and drive required to fight back, but they more than likely wouldn't have the resources.

2. They have plenty of ammo for any of them. Let's nominate someone who will shoot back.

He's even giving him free advice, lol.

I'm not so sure they do (disclaimer: not meant as an endorsement).

6. You'd think, from the responses here, that the question was "Who do you NOT want to be nominated?"
The truth of the matter is that the GOP WANTS Obama to be the nominee. They thought they wanted Clinton, but they've changed their minds in the last year.

They're counting on the racist voters, because the 'anti-wimmen' voters are starting to get used to the concept -- if not the specific candidate running in this contest --of a female President, and aren't as frightened or threatened as they once were. They think, though, that the red faced racists just might pull the lever for "Any Whitey" rather than vote for anyone with a good tan...

Obama,is a GOP wet dream election. Hillary is not,but she is also unelectable.

8. Just look what they did to the Clinton's in 94
We finally have a razor thin margin in Congress, do we really want to give that up again people?

19. Pretty much. I think that a GOP hard-negative campaign against Obama would
work only slightly better than Hillary's disastrous attempts.

11. The right wing hate machine has already programmed the Freeps to hate Hillary
Despite the fact that her agenda is a Hell of a lot closer to their politics than it is to any REAL Democrat.
Sending in Poppy Bush to clean up the mess that his created terrorists and idiot son made? Geezus....... :eyes:

17. It's a pretty big Party
Hillary is just as much a real Democrat as Kucinich.

I resent this narrowing view of what a Democrat is or isn't.

16. I think the GOP is sharpening the knives for Hillary.
If you thought swiftboating in 2004 was bad....

Barack Obama would get a lot of bullshit about his middle name and the Muslim bullshit.

Also maybe the cocaine situation to a smaller degree.

But I think the Republicans are ready to do anything and everything to take Hillary Rodham Clinton on. They may not get their chance, we'll see who wins the nomination.

18. I'm gonna go out on a limb and say Edwards.
His current policies are full of "OMG COMMIE" openings. He has little experience to speak of. He's reversed his position on absolutely everything over the last three years; there's more than enough room for a series of "Edwards vs. Edwards" ads. He's a rich prettyboy in a big house.

Clinton fights back hard, and Obama's well liked. Edwards is a slab of delicious meat.
