Ad Says Edward Ready for 'Epic Battle'
Analysis by Associated Press Writer Jim Kuhnhenn

TITLE: "Fight."

LENGTH: 30 seconds

AIRING: Iowa (now) and New Hampshire (beginning Monday)

SCRIPT: Edwards: "This isn't about petty politics or good intentions. Corporate greed and influence in Washington are stealing our children's future. The moral test of our generation is whether we're going to allow this broken system to go on without a fight or take on corporate greed and stand up for the middle class and American jobs before it's too late. They aren't going to just give their power away. Saving the middle class is going to be an epic battle, and that's a fight I was born for."

Edwards voice over: "I'm John Edwards, and I approved this message."

KEY IMAGE: Edwards, in suit and tie, speaks as he sits in front of a picture window with a snow covered scene behind him. An image of his policy booklet appears on the screen and invites viewers to look at his plan in the campaign's Web site.

1. Was he in a suit of armor?
or just a regular suit?

Sounds like he's going to get up on his trusty steed and joust the Black Knight or something....

4. But the Des Moines Register (endorsing Hillary) doesn't like it when he does that.
"His harsh anti-corporate rhetoric would make it difficult to work with the business community to forge change," their editorial said.

God forbid anyone should be "harsh" toward the corporations.

8. Those poor corporations.
If the Des Moines Register doesn't speak up for them, who will?

11. I know
The ones offshoring jobs for their profits. The ones polluting the environment. The ones preventing any meaningful healthcare or energy legislation. Finally someone realized we cannot play nice with them.

6. The people who post comments on YouTube are neanderthals.
There are negative comments about Elizabeth on so many of the Edwards' YouTube videos. It makes me sick.

I like the video, but I'd like to see more passion. I guess passion would be risky because then they'll call him angry and negative. I'm glad I'm not a politician.

12. Maybe he needs to appear with an M-16 on top of one of those
up-armored vehicles that Blackwater was using in Iraq. You know, the kind that doesn't blow up when it goes over an IED.

He'll need it in the general. The corporations really don't like him, 'cause he's caused them lots of trouble already.
