5 Things That Aren't going to Change
1. Hillary - voted for K/L
2. Biden - has foot-in-mouth disease, which flares up from time to time
3. Edwards - built a really, really, big house, and talks about sacrifice
4. Obama - did drugs and has gone public with it
5. Kucinich - has publicly commented on seeing a UFO

All of which are, and will continue to be, used by some to attack them with. Our side, and the other side will do it.

These are all things that they are solely responsible for. THEY did it or said it. On their own. Unless someone slipped Dennis some acid. :)

My point, and I do have one, is that they ALL take responsibility for these things. Their supporters here sometimes seem to have a little trouble with that concept.

In addition:
1. Hillary - has worked her fanny off - her entire adult life, for womens and children's issues
2. Biden - has spent decades in dedicated, honorable public service
3. Edwards - is focusing this election on real people and real problems in a way that has been missing for too long
4. Obama - is inspiring people to have hope again, in a government that has betrayed its population
5. Kucinich - is, in my mind anyway, the heart and conscious of the party

I didn't include Dodd or Richards, because I don't see the negatives assailing them, that I see being used against the others.

I think we're damn lucky to have the candidates we do.

2. Nice summation. And yes, we are damned lucky.
Look at what the pitiful Republicans have to choose from.

3. The best group of Democratic candidates in decades.
Although I'm supporting Dennis Kucinich through the primary process, I will be proud to vote for any of them in the general election.

4. As Molly Ivins wrote ...
"My voting philosophy is simple: In the primaries, go with your heart; in the finals, vote your brain."

(source: http://www.creators.com/opinion/molly-ivins/molly-ivins-july-13-2000-07-13.html)

And I agree ... what a great group of candidates!

8. WORST - CANDIDATES - EVER
More than 1/2 of them are crooks, and most of the others don't have a lot going for them. I like DK and would be proud to vote for him. Some of the others I'd vote for with apathy, and most I would vote for with a deep sense of shame, knowing they will bring horrible things upon this country and its' people, but fewer than the Republicans. Give me Dean or Gore any day.

12. Sadly, I find myself in agreement with you. This country is on the
edge of a precipice, has a population of 303,000,000, and these are the choices we have for President. We need vision and we need reform and what we'll probably get is warmed-over status quo. We really need Gore, and I'm still holding out for him, but probably in vain.

The worst thing is that if we get a Democratic President who is "business as usual," that President will become another Hoover. Meanwhile, the brain-dead Republican candidates don't even admit there are any problems.

9. Very refreshing...
honest and sincere, what a concept. Thank you for the great post, it shows our candidates are HUMAN and willing to stand up and admit it. Unlike the Repubs who are all a bunch of ROBOTS incapable of an honest thought or opinion.

16. Agreed. And I'd like to see one candidate create a list of how the others would be a viable
part of the new administration if they were elected. Their "slate" of cabinet or other nominations based on the talents of their competitors. Wouldn't that be a nice change?
