1. The best known candidates do the best, the least known candidates do the worst
That is a pretty uninforming poll.

3. If candidates haven't got name ID yet, they likely won't build too much new name ID before Jan. 3
FWIW, this is a poll of 400 likely Iowa caucus participants.

5. And bad signs for Biden if these are to be taken seriously
He usually loags far back, plus he only comes out ahead of Richardson once; in who is running a more negative campaign. I konw Biden is playing with the deck stacked against him but it is the only deck in town and this is the last town where he gets a chance to make a name for himself.

7. The trends in Iowa have been unkind to Biden. 5 of the last 7 polls show him 5th (the most recent 2
among those showing him in 5th with only half of Richardson's support). I'm still thinking Biden could squeak by Richardson.

11. In Iowa, bad news for Biden may be good news for Richardson (these numbers are not bad for him)

6. I was surprised at how well she did among issue-oriented voters, but a surprising (to me) 4th among
voters seeking an honest/trustworthy candidate.

8. Remembering Gephardt vs Dean '04, Hillary might worry her campaign's perceived as the most negative

9. I agree that's some of the most interesting data in the poll. Most negative, less trustworthy/honest
seems to be a bad combination for picking up second choice support among caucus participants.

13. I think the "most negative" hurts more in Iowa than the lower "trust" numbers.
