4. I think it has to do with the following
Up until the last couple of weeks all stories relating to the minister from Arkansas were glowing, "damn this nice guy sure could use a break to get into the top tier".

Now that he's there though the skeletons are receiving a little light.

"paroling a rapist so he could rape and murder someone else"
"offering up the idea that HIV patients should be quarantined like plague patients" In 1992 no less.
"strongly endorsing the nutjob fundie idea that the wife should happily take her place as the subservient member of a household"

The bloom is now off the huckster rose and I really am enjoying the stink.
