1. The Obama haters are just like Bush and co.-they smear anyone even associated with the person.
Suddenly Oprah's the devil, not talented, washed up, arrogant, selfish, and on and on and on. It's unbelievable how jealous they are!

honestly i dont understand why the animosity...everyone knows good and well they wouldnt have a problem if she were campaigning with their preferred candidate. like i said, if you dont like the fact that she is endorsing barack obama...well, you don't have to like it. dont fucking like it. but stop making endless new oprah threads, get over it and keep it moving.

6. The Clintonistas are enraged that we are not endorsing their Queen-in-waiting
They already submitted their resumes for the Hillary 44 Administration, and were expecting their portfolios increase as Bush's corporate sponsors gave way to Hillary's corporate sponsors, and all those juicy government contracts that would follow the Hillary coronation.

Democracy is so unpredictable, isn't it?

How can she come from behind when she's in the lead?

Or if not in the lead.. at least clumped up in a threesome with Obama and Edwards.

What I think will happen:

Iowa will throw us all for a loop and will select none of the above.

They'll choose Biden, Richardson or Dodd.

22. It is indeed ugly, but probably no more so than ...
the Hillary hate I also see here a lot of the time.

But these things are instructive. Watching the early years of the nation fall under the sway of the Bush administration, I felt for the first time that I could understand how Europeans fell under the sway of fascism.

Now, watching all these vituperative, hyperbolic accusations flying around on all sides, I really understand how the Terror developed during the French Revolution. Hell, many of the most ardent supporters of the Revolution ended up with their heads in the basket after being accused of royalist sentiments (sort of like the charges of "corporatist!" that pass for commentary around here). I fully expect a guillotine to be dragged out here one day. It won't be pretty.

It's been non-stop here for quite some time. I don't go into the candidate-bashing threads. Things are bad enough without reading some of the stupid, vapid, petty reasons we shouldn't vote for such-and-such. My only requirement at this point is that the candidate doesn't have an "R" after their name.

Like how the heck anyone could have voted for as many Republicans as Democrats over the last 35 years? (Oprah stated she had)

Now, I believe Obama's record would have served him well had he not jumped on the 'rock star/celebrity' bandwagon. He let ambition overrule his common sense/sense of duty/service. And, that is what I cannot support.

36. In our lil' group of HRC supporters you will not find any hate
and not once have I written hate towards obama, cause if I did then the next thing I know I would be called a racist, a bigot. I have written that Oprah's support for Obama is all about race. She can gloss over it all she wants too but it was made clear yeaterday and today when she said, " People, he is the one"....Now why would Oprah say that well I honestly believe this was a follow up to what Mrs Obama said a few weeks back about black folks should support her husband for the simple reason, If You’re Black, Vote for Barack. Because He’s Black.Michelle Obama thinks that if her hubby doesn’t win, it’s because black folk don’t have enough self-esteem:

Follow along here folks and I will tie em together: Mrs. Obama: “First of all, I think that that’s not going to hold. I’m completely confident: black America will wake up, and get . But what we’re dealing with in the black community is just the natural fear of possibility. Now Oprah says to her audience that Obama is the One"

And Oprah should know better and Voting for a person because of the color of his skin is racist. It also is stupid.

Ben David

37. how the hell do you know that?
And did not Oprah say that infront of Iowa which is mostly white? I think your assuming that Oprah is backing Obama based on the fact that she said "he's the one" is infact somewhat racist, becase you just want to assume Oprah is backing him because they are both black (well black and half-black).

43. You KEEP misrepresenting what Michelle said...
You keep saying Michelle Obama said Black people should vote for her husband just because they're Black. But that's NOT what she said. She was asked about a middle-aged Black woman who said she likes Obama, and would LIKE to vote for him, but she probably won't because she doesn't think a Black person could win the presidency. Michelle was talking about that woman and other Black people who felt the same way. She did NOT say Black people should vote for Obama because he's Black. I'm sure Oprah feels the same way. And there have been other Black people running for president. She obviously wasn't inspired by them. She's inspired by Obama. Deal with it.
