Biden and Obama have complimentary personalities,
A message of idealism and hope paired with plain talking and blunt humor. A person who communicates an above the fray sense of politics backed up by a straight shooter with a no nonsense personality. A President who can heal a divided nation with a VP who is not afraid to mix it up with his opponents and go right for the jugular. Ladies and gentleman, I give you Obama/Biden 08.

2. And, my conservative family members like Obama.
They think he is a good guy, un-corrupted and they could live with him, some even vote for him.

The ONLY criticism they put up is that he lacks foriegn policy experience. Hello, Joe Biden. They would be a dynamite ticket.

3. I don't think putting the two men's careers side by side is very flattering to Obama

and besides, Biden doesn't strike me as the type who's interested in second-chairing.

28. BIDEN-OBAMA 2008
I honestly think this would be our strongest possible ticket for 2008.

This would set us up for victory in 2008, 2012, 2016 and 2020! B-)

But Biden needs some kind of a Christmas Miracle in Iowa and/or NH.

7. Perhaps you've missed it...
Joe Biden will Not be anyone's VP. He will go back to the Senate, because he will have more power there, than he ever would as a VP. I know he wouldn't give up 35 years in the Senate for a brief stint in any admin job. Including SOS. He's stated as much many, many times.

You're going to have to find yourself another Vp. Sorry!

sorry to hear that
but Biden should suck it up for the good of his country. He had his chance in 88. Times have changed. Plus, since when has the VP been considered a step down? Every since Mondale, the VP has become more powerful, more influential, and more important (with the exception of Quale.) So what's the opposition?

Biden has a LOT of power right now. The VP, as I said, does not. He doesn't need to "suck it up", for the good of this country. Biden is running on experience, Obama, ego.

13. It just wouldn't make much sense to put Obama at the top of the ticket.
When Biden is so much more experienced. It would put Obama in a situation where he'd always be going to his VP and asking him what to do, and we've seen that recently and I for one don't like the results. Now, if you put Biden at the top of the ticket, then Obama would have the opportunity to learn from one of our smartest living politicians. Then Obama can take over in 8 years. That is the way that would make the most sense. Obama just hasn't paid enough dues.

14. That would give us a near-guaranteed SIXTEEN years.. think of it..
almost enough time to start undoing the damage the war criminal in chief has done to our country and the world.

Go Biden/Obama :-) :toast:

18. I'd be willing to take bets that Biden would ask Obama to be his running mate.
The bets are off if Obama wins the nomination. He might not was a VP who knows more than him.

26. I agree, although I think...
it would be better with Biden at the top of the ticket. I love Obama (my second choice) but the reason I ultimately back Biden over him is because I just don't feel he's ready, after four (or eight!) years of Biden/Obama he would be perfect to slide into the presidency. One of our Bidenites put it beautifully (I think it was pirhanna) who said, that if Obama were elected now, he would shine, but after a few years with Biden he would shine with brilliance.
Go Biden/Obama!

31. What about the photo in the OP?
Looks to me like Biden and Obama respect each other.

But the nominee doesn't even need to like their running mate.

After all, Kerry picked Edwards in 2004. ;-)

wouldn't be in the same room together if they could help it.
