Second Clinton volunteer asked to resign...again for sending hoax Obama/Muslim e-mails
Clinton Volunteer Asked to Resign
By NEDRA PICKLER
Associated Press Writer

WASHINGTON (AP) - Hillary Rodham Clinton's campaign on Sunday requested the resignation of a second Iowa volunteer coordinator who forwarded a hoax e-mail saying Barack Obama is a Muslim possibly intent on destroying the United States.
Obama is a member of the United Church of Christ and says he has never been a Muslim, but false rumors attempting to tie him to Islamic jihadists are circulating on the Internet.

"Let us all remain alert concerning Obama's expected presidential Candidacy," read the e-mail. "Please forward to everyone you know. The Muslims have said they Plan on destroying the US from the inside out, what better way to start than at The highest level."

The Clinton campaign has decried the rumors as offensive and outrageous, and last week forced volunteer Jones County coordinator Judy Rose to resign after learning that she forwarded a such an e-mail on Nov. 21. But it turns out Rose wasn't the only one.

Linda Olson, a volunteer coordinator in Iowa County, had forwarded a similar version on Oct. 5, without comment, to 11 people. One of the recipients was Ben Young, a regional field director for Democrat Chris Dodd's campaign, who provided a copy to The Associated Press on Sunday.

1. Is this what's going on in Hillary's campaign offices?
Sending smear spam? That might explain their performance.

I think these e-mails are representative of the atmosphere in Hillaryland.

11. I don't think it's representative at all.
I live in DC and have volunteered several times at Hillary's national HQ here. When I've been there, I've never heard the staffers even talk about Hillary's opponents - they put a lot of focus on Hillary's qualities as a candidate. It's a very postive atmosphere, IMO, though I obviously can't speak for all of her field offices across the country.

Edited on Sun Dec-09-07 08:52 PM by ClarkUSA
I really hope the Obama campaign addresses this soon, because I'll bet more than these two Hillaryous regional directors have been doing the same
damnable thing. God only knows how many people have been exposed to this freeper-imitation swift boating attack.

Mark Penn really is Hillary's Karl Rove and Hillary really is Bush-lite. F*ck them both for being such unconscionable dirty tricksters who are bent on
winning at any cost.

41. I'm not nuts enough to believe
that Obama would send out Hillary is a lesbian E-mails. She and he both are too bright and would be deeply offended by those types of E-mails.

How do Hillary haters actually believe Hillary would be involved in something as stupid as this? I guess if you hate enough you can believe just about anything.

"The Clinton campaign responded by asking for Olson's resignation."

"We've made our position on this crystal clear," said Clinton spokesman Mo Elleithee. "Our campaign does not tolerate this kind of activity or campaigning. As soon as it came to our attention, we asked this individual to step down."

44. A campaign error is not a 'tactic'
Obama has made it clear that he seeks equal rights and opportunities for gay and lesbian citizens, and that he wholeheartedly disagrees with McClurkin's views about homosexuality.

He also has a strong record to back his statements up, but believe what you will.

Regarding the rest of your post, change "Obama" to "Nixon" and "gay and lesbian" to "minorities", rewind back to 1968 and the same thing could have been said about Nixon, the author of the racist "Southern strategy."

49. What part of this statement confuses you?
"I have clearly stated my belief that gays and lesbians are our brothers and sisters and should be provided the respect, dignity, and rights of all other citizens. I have consistently spoken directly to African-American religious leaders about the need to overcome the homophobia that persists in some parts of our community so that we can confront issues like HIV/AIDS and broaden the reach of equal rights in this country. I strongly believe that African Americans and the LGBT community must stand together in the fight for equal rights. And so I strongly disagree with Reverend McClurkin's views and will continue to fight for these rights as President of the United States to ensure that America is a country that spreads tolerance instead of division."

Again, McClurkin was a campaign mistake. Nothing more, nothing less. And I was born in 1968. I believe I have the appropriate respect for the events that occurred that year. I sincerely hope that you do, too.

it was the Clintons that told John Kerry to oppose gay rights in order to gain a tactical advantage in 2004. Kerry refused to do a Sister Souljah on LGBTs as the Clintons had advised him to do.

7. Why am I not surprised? I always thought Hillaryworld was behind the recent Madrassa email spread.
And the only time they've moved to get rid of staffers is when the public is informed. The campaign let Judy Rose stay on TWO WEEKS after they
were initially notified she'd sent out the racist swift boating emails. I wonder how long Mark Penn sat on the info about Linda Olson before this
AP story broke?

13. Remember how the Clintons sabotaged John Kerry?
Hillary joined the GOP in the smearing of Kerry, saying that Kerry had insulted all the troops with a joke.

The Clinton's henchman Carville alerting Dick Cheney that Kerry was considering challenging the Ohio results.

Bill Clinton trying to get Kerry to throw the gays under the bus in order to get votes.

Of course they phrased it as "asked him to step down" which is just a polite modern-day term for getting fired.

42. What damage was done?
Only a handful of E-mails went out and some went to people in the Hillary and Dodd campaigns. The smear E-mail has been around for months and no harm came to Obama from the few that were sent by Hillary volunteers.

If you went through all the E-mails of all the campaign volunteers for all the candidates you'd find lots of embarrassing stuff.

Hillary personally authorized these campaigners to spread that email about Obama????? Wow, you are too much! If you really think that's true, then you're way past drinking the Kool-Aid and have moved on to something much stronger.

Whatever...........

For the record, I'm glad that they were fired, there's no room for anybody like that in a campaign.

Oh, and if any you had attended a Clinton campaign training session you would have known that the bashing of other Democratic candidates is not allowed.
