Giuliani is skewered on "Meet the Press"
December 09, 2007 12:00 PM EST

Rudy Giuliani gets skewered on “Meet the Press”!

Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani was a guest on the Dec. 9, 2007 edition of 'Meet the Press.'

Tim Russert calling Florida for Gore during the 2000 presidential election before adequate election results were out was unacceptable; however, his skewering Rudy Giuliani on national TV was a thing of beauty.

Pro abortion, pro gay marriage, pro gun control, pro this, pro that, Rudy Giuliani’s performance on “Meet the Press", only served to show that Rudy is not at all a man of presidential character. For the entire hour, Giuliani addressed his suspect behaviors and ethical breaches while mayor of New York. He rattled on for the entire hour in monotone lackluster diatribe. Even Tim Russert seemed to tire of hearing Rudy’s mumbo jumbo, and was relieved when the hour was up.

Imagine 4 years of listening to this guy?

Rudy Giuliani was a mayor with zero military experience, a shady past, and a value structure like that of Barney Frank. How on earth, can this man call himself a Republican?

He is not a man I wish are children to look up to or emulate

2. No shit. I love Barney.
Given how much these freaks detest him...it says much about what they think of The Ghoul...

4. Russert did not drill him.
Rudy got off easy. At one point Rudy was laughing out loud at the ridiculousness of the questions.

Timmy actually was trying to say that because Rudy's firm once did some legal work for an Indonesian company that had a manager who supposedly was sympathetic to Sheik Kalied (or whatever his name is - "mastermind" of 9/11) that Rudy somehow... I'm not sure what the point was. Just a connection I guess. Rudy swatted it by essentially saying that the law firm, of which he wasn't even an active partner at the time, could not possibly vet the beliefs and activities of all the principals of their clients, let alone any business relationships they might have had throughout history.

I mean, even Donald Rumsfeld shook hands with Saddam. The USA propped up Bin Laden.

The rest was just bringing up the laundry list of known issues with Rudy, which he wouldn't even have entered the race if he didn't think he could handle. Timmy was basically giving him the opportunity to bury these issues if he could. Timmy brought up the deal about security protection for his girlfriend, but didn't press the point at all. Softball stuff; questions from the crack Russert interns/investigative team, massaged by Timmy to make himself look informed and insightful, but nothing that will prevent him from getting invited to the next cocktail party.

5. "monotone lackluster diatribe"
Wow, there's a bizarre mélange of words, even for wingnuts.
