1. And I think I can say with a degree of certainty..
that Biden would NOT have backed down from the Swift Boating....and we might even get a chance to see that in this race...

6. Kerry would have beaten him, but YES, Biden is much more the debate tiger...
that's why he's my #1 right now.

Take no prisoners, Joe!

2. None of them could beat Kerry n/t

3. Had he stayed above the fray in Iowa the way he is now he would have jumped over
Dean/Gephardt/Kerry.

I think Iowa would have been Edwards, Biden (then one of the above three).

5. No way to be sure and can't be ruled out, given Biden's brains, but all the
same, the Kerry campaign in Iowa in 04 was a remarkable up-from-the-ashes turnaround.

Just ask Presidents Gephardt and Dean.

7. Who knows? He might have been an also-ran then. Hell, for all we know, he

might have split Kerry's support, and Edwards might have won the nomination. Maybe with a Biden candidacy, the Dean-Gephardt murder-suicide pact doesn't occur, and Dean wins the nomination. Who knows?
