8. is there a hint of jealousy in the air this morning?
it sure seems like it. if hillary had a really big name person on the stage with her the hillary would the hillary supporters object? obama has stole hillary`s thunder for the last few days and now if hillary tries this it will seem she`s trying to catch up to obama. maybe mark penn is`t all he`s cracked up to be.

maybe these stupid obama-oprah bashing posts will fade away soon

11. If you want to watch it fullscreen...
..you can't, as far as I can tell. I hate when they do that. But you can get close by clicking here: http://ustream.tv/1vt,YsmlDTltX5Vyeow.LLF2pLttiKm7.usc

That's a direct link to the stream, and it'll show up a lot larger that way.

(If it stops working, you can visit http://my.barackobama.com/page/content/oprahwebcast, click "view" and then "page source", and then hit ctrl-f and search for the link that ends in .usc. But hopefully you won't need to!)

It's called harnessing the power of the new "mobile" media. Candidates *don't* do that at their own peril.

The place is packed. People are having fun. Obama and Oprah are about to rock the house. Why can't you just deal with it? Or if you can't, why don't you go to hang out with Hillary, Chelsea and Dorothy? I'm sure they are in need of some attention right now.

61. Only a Clinton supporter would say a successful rally is "embarrassing"
The only embarrassing thing about this VERY SUCCESSFUL SERIES OF EVENTS is that it is smashing the thin support for Hillary Clinton nationally.

If the Clinton team can pull off a successful series of events half this good, I'd be amazed.

So what are you doing about it? You come to DU and want to piss on this thread like a rabid dog. If I were you, I'd call your local Clinton headquarters (if there is any) and help set up an event to show your support.

Best of luck on that...

118. Remember all of the Media when JFK was running for office
In my view JFK, RFK and CLINTON were all Media Rock STARS.
Recall Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis Jr. etc.

Our Party was not hardly embarrassed when movie stars and famous singers were THERE for all of the above.

Embarrassed?! Hardly, there is nothing to be embarrassed about ~ I am delighted that the focus is on a DEMOCRAT for a change.

70. She's one important supporter.
Perhaps the most influential at the moment, but still only one person.

Some voters will respond to Oprah -- others may not, but will respond to another spokesperson or to Obama himself.

Everyone is important in this campaign -- and that's one reason that venomous attacks among DUers makes me so sad, no matter which candidate they support.

a super cool, user-friendly application called Snag-It. http://www.techsmith.com/screen-capture.asp

Free trial but well worth the purchase, in my opinion.

EDIT: Of course, images can always find a nice home at photobucket. :)

88. Thanks.
I was hoping there was a Windows feature I already have that allows screen capture. I wouldn't be using it enough to justify purchasing a program.

That got 'em fired up!!! :bounce:

edit: "My cousin Dick Cheney won't be on the ballot either! ...finding out you're related to Dick Cheney, that's a sad, sad situation!"

In all the years I've been watching politics and primaries, I've never seen any crowds this big for any candidate, period. Yesterday's rally in Iowa was stunning and this one... there are just no words.

Awesome to finally see her!!

I've heard that a lot of the reporters attached to Obama on the trail know that when he starts into the "Fired Up Ready To Go Lady" story, it's their cue that it's safe to take a bathroom break and still get back for the end of the rally. :-)

Barack gave his best speech on the campaign trail today, imo.

121. My 4 yr old son and I were 2 of the nearly 30,000
It was the most beautiful thing I have seen since moving to South Carolina 12 years ago. Seeing that many people show up to a political event! We're just getting started! The diversity of the crowd was so beautiful - seeing old people, young people, parents bringing their teenagers, their babies and their little ones. All shapes, colors and sizes! And the energy was phenomenal!

Regardless your candidate - the fact that Obama can inspire 30,000 to come out and listen to what he has to say must be a sign of a movement just getting started. Imagine what grassroots America can do if he becomes the Democratic nominee and beyond!

Obama was campaigning at the event with talk show host Oprah Winfrey. The two are scheduled to make two stops in Iowa before heading off to campaign events in South Carolina and New Hampshire tomorrow. By Eric Thayer/Getty Images.
