3. The only way is using "TiVo to Go". The "record to VCR" won't output in a
codec you can use on your computer.

Is your TiVo networked? It must be to use TTG.

no my Tivo isn't networked. It does have a phone line obviously but it's not on the home network.

I would really like to save this movie because it's a small european film and I don't think it's been released here.

5. If you have a DVD recorder (standalone, not on your PC), you can use the
"record to VHS" function.
