The fighting going on between the Clinton and Obama campaigns are getting hot. With John Edwards running a very positive campaign in Iowa, you would think he was the front runner... wait a minute... maybe he is.

Real Clear Politics

"some top campaign rivals still think Edwards would win Iowa, were the caucuses held today"

This would explain the extreme nature of the fighting between Obama and Clinton. They are battling for second place. Or much more accurately, they are battling to not be third, which would be a major blow to either campaign. Not that they wouldn't love to finish first, but that doesn't seem to be their strategy.

1. Somebody's either misinformed or thinking wishfully.
The latest polls show that it's Edwards and Clinton who are fighting over second place.

4. Claiming that somebody said something doesn't make it true.
And that link goes to an unrelated article.

5. The Title of the article is Edwards assails Corporate Dems.
Thats a fair article. Is that even an article? Nowhere does it even say that the Obama nad Clinton camps are saying Edwards would win because that is fucking ridiculous.

9. I'm sorry, but I can find just as many people that say Obama will win.
I'm not saying you're wrong, just that it's too early to tell who will win.

It's very close, but I think you already know this.

10. Obama Supporters Need to Read This! Obama Calls Iran Threat to World Peace!
Obama Calls Iran a Threat to World Peace
by John McCormick
Chicago Tribune

Seeking to woo Jewish votes and contributions, Sen. Barack Obama told an audience in Chicago on Friday that he considers Iran "one of the greatest threats to the United States, Israel and world peace" and pledged he would try to end Tehran's uranium-enrichment program.

Wow and Obama was a No Show for the Kyle Amendment? Guess we know where he stands now.

Another compelling reason to stand firm with John Edwards...

16. Another thing that casts doubt for me on Obama....not as corporate/
Bush-lite as Clinton, but skating a bit too close to the edge for me....Not enough of a track record voting to really be sure of him on so many things, and then these sort of speeches that "woo"....

I understand that Edwards' votes as Senator are spotty, but he does get the key corporate power interfering with democracy very strongly and that's what is critical now, in my opinion.

6. If Obama gets third place
ouch. It will not be a good result and could hurt his campaign.

Hillary on the other hand has decent chances to come back in New Hampshire and other states after Iowa.

7. "very positive campaign"???
No, seriously.

Interesting, though, this whole caucus system. I'm in Australia and they do this preferential voting thing that is similar to the Iowa caucus. On election night, I watched as the leader in #1 votes kept losing because of the number of #2 votes that went to the opponent. I suspect the same thing will happen in Iowa and we may get a surprise based on the #2 preferences of other candidates like Richardson, Biden, Kucinich etc. Hell, Biden might just be the #2 for many of the others and may pull off the win. Fascinating.

The Iowa polls look pretty volatile. Edwards has a great chance carrying it.
