Ohioans for Dean endorse John Edwards!
Edwards Brings the Battlefront to Ohio
Cleveland Plain Dealer, February 22, 2004

{snip}
Edwards' campaign got a little boost Saturday night. Steven Chaffin, head of Ohio's Howard Dean campaign, endorsed Edwards and promised that Dean's Ohio volunteers would start campaigning for him today.

8. Not so fast -- it was ONE PERSON, not the whole organization
AND, he's not very well-regarded in most of the Dean camp (the part I'm aware of), and this was BEFORE his self-serving little defection.

If you're happy to have a two-faced opportunist trading on his FORMER association with the Dean campaign, go for it. But it's really not much of a feather in Edwards' camp -- at all.

2. Actually there is a negative side about Chaffin
First he offered his "services" to kerry and was rejected and then he used Dean resources to get in good with Edwards. They welcomed him.

Steve simply contacted the Kerry people to say hi and they told him to buzz off. He never even got a chance to offer to help them. The Edwards people were overly friendly and supportive. And those people never got any money from Burlibgton, they've always operated on their own.

9. Nope, they had their own lists
First off, Burlington told them to go and do as they wished. They checked with BURLINGTON first.

Second, Ohioans for Dean compiled their own list of Dean people who signed up and contributed through the Ohiofordean website, not the main Deanforamerica website.

What they have they own, and if they didn't Burlington has made it clear they are ok to use it.

4. You do know that the reason many Dean people are supporting
Edwards is because they can't stand Kerry right?

I think that is futile myself otherwise I'd think about it too.

10. No, no, thank you ONE former, loose cannon Ohioan for Dean
One who has disgraced himself and shown himself to be nothing but an opportunist, with few if any principles to start with.
