I received a solicitation today
from the Committee for a Democratic Majority, featuring Ted Kennedy.
I informed them that I would not contribute to any candidate that supported this war or voted to fund this war.
Plain and simple, I believe that no candidate should be supported if they continually voted to continue this war in any way. Period.

1. Unless of course....

they actually voted to fund the war, to provide the soldiers with all of the armor, and equipment they need to be safe...that is always left out of this conversation. Even if they cut off the funding, Bush is not going to bring the troops home. He's going to leave them there, and then start saying that it's the dem's fault that they are getting killed. They are damned if they do, damned if they don't.

2. I respectfully disagree
Congress can fund the withdrawl of American troops to have it done in anorderly and safe manner. The troops did not have the proper equipment and armor when they were dispatched as cannon fodder. Rumsfeld said you go with the army you have, not necessarily with the army you want. That in itself is an indictment of him and this war. The war is based entirely on lies, the troops have received upgrades-not enough and they never will-and the war has been declared a success by Bush himself.

Congress controls the purse strings now as they did during Viet Nam. They are just too cowardly and too self absorbed to do it.

4. Yes
I see the Bush spin on it. Reciting all his fear tactics ad nauseum. I just say fuck him and do what is right for the country.
