9. so he feints to the right
and delivers a left hook.

In other word's he's ::::gasp:::::attacking her.

Nice try for him to attempt looking like he's taking the high road.

As usual, O's attacks involve subjective opinion that can't be backed up.
OMG! Hillary is too polarizing and not electable!

5. Why does it surprise you that he finds her smart, capable, and tough?
Is she not?

The Veep spot would be nothing he would "try for." She would only be so lucky.

Here's the context of the quote, by the way, in case people are interested --

That candidate, Obama said, is not his chief rival, Hillary Clinton. Though he praised her as smart, capable, and tough, he said if Clinton is the nominee, it would be a replay of the 2000 and 2004 elections, when the 5 percent of voters in the middle and in swing states will decide the outcome and result in a divided country.

"Even if we win, we will have just eked out a victory," he said. "We will not be able to govern.....I have the opportunity to break through."

6. Did you actually read the article you link to?
Because if you did, you would see that your snarky remark does not apply at all.

20. This is DU. Nobody reads the hyperlink. They just flame/rec away.
But when I read the story, I saw him trying to step back from the snarky two-bit sound bite poll driven over crafted and obsessively scripted attacks. Sounds to me as though he's decided to not burn that bridge before he gets to it.

8. Why does it mean that he wants a Veep spot under her?
Even Biden said it would be difficult being a Veep with Bill Clinton around.

10. I think she would be wise to start courting for the
veep spot herself.

He's a class act. I don't care for Hillary but I concede that she is smart, capable and tough.

I Heart Obama.

Edited on Mon Dec-03-07 03:29 PM by Carrieyazel
Don't bash Hillary. But praise her??? Everybody knows who she is. They know she's smart, someone you don't want to cross etc., but why express it???

I understand he also said that he's the one who would be able to govern and unite better than Hillary, and all that. But the media will grasp only the first part! That's what he needs to understand.
