`08 note to myself.......It`s the bloodshed, stupid!
I`m really struggling with a choice for `08, but one thing is very, very clear. I`ve had enough bloodshed and chaos, enough naked pryamids and orphans, enough blown up buildings and amputees.
I`m not certain I`m able to fully understand the enormous calamity, the complete disaster George W. Bush has caused. I do know I`m pained beyond words some days at the thought of Bush`s ruinous policies and his gutless enablers. Maybe it`s the new math, but something surely doesn`t add up. I know I`m neither safer nor freer, even though it costs a million dollars a minute for this mess.

I guess I`m going to have to go with a not-big-on-bloodshed candidate, someone who gets more pleasure out of building bridges than blowing them up. I mean....doesn`t this earth deserve a break from all this disorder and fear? There must be millions of little children out there who would love to lay their heads down at night and breath in nothing but peace.

1. Yes... and that's why Kucinich gives me great hope.

2. I agree 100%. I like Biden, but I'm praying whoever it is, will end the violence.

3. Absolutely
I'm with you 2000%. The problem is that the great unwashed in this country go to work, stop at the grocery store, eat supper, watch American Idol, then maybe a little bit of the "liberal media" on the 10:00 (Central time - insert your time zone here) news - which is akin to getting no real news at all - go to bed, lather, rinse, repeat.

They don't think, as you obviously do democrank, about the horror that exists outside their little world. And they won't until it affects them directly: in job loss, friend or child of a friend killed in the occupation, etc. People have lost the ability, or at least the will, to empathize.

How anyone can, with even a little knowledge of what's really happening outside our little enclave (and even INSIDE it!), fail to be outraged and horrified escapes me. And it's the same people that ignore this reality that run around squawking about us losing our "Christian" focus as a country. Like the knucklehead Repub candidates tromping over each other to make sure they scream, "I believe every word in the Bible!" the loudest. Hypocriticas maximus.
