Some disbursement history from Obama's Hopefund and Clinton's HILLPAC
Edited on Mon Dec-03-07 03:40 AM by ClarkUSA
Obama’s Hopefund:

…gave nearly $160,000 between July 1 and Nov. 5 to local and congressional officials in states that are holding presidential contests next month.

During that period, Hopefund gave about $210,000 to federal candidates in OTHER STATES across the country.

Some of those elected officials who received contributions endorsed Obama’s campaign. Others did not, WITH SOME ENDORSING CLINTON.

…Hopefund used the money to assist Democratic candidates and pointed out that of the $476,000 that Hopefund contributed in 2007, about 57
percent went to STATES OTHER THAN Iowa, New Hampshire, Nevada or South Carolina (that’s 57%) and these contributions did not violate FEC
regulations.

Hopefund raised only $2,000 from PACs early this year before it stopped fundraising.

Hopefund has about $99,000 left, according to its report.

“I’m not sure that there’s any money left in that leadership PAC, and it’s gone to candidates all over the country because we’re trying to elect
Democrats,” Axelrod said on CBS. “And that’s what we should be doing.”

Clinton’s HillPAC:

…paid for some of her current campaign staff before she officially launched her candidacy.

In 2006, it also contributed about $60,000 to federal and state politicians in IOWA, NEW HAMPSHIRE and SOUTH CAROLINA.

The Obama campaign also pointed out that Clinton delivered a check for $100,000 last week from her family’s tax-exempt charitable foundation
as a donation to a proposed public library in SOUTH CAROLINA.

Oh, and wasn’t it just last week that we were treated to the spectacle of Governor Vilsack gushing to the press that Hillary was the face of foreign
policy in the Clinton administration? AFTER she paid off his $400,000 campaign debt? Is that not throwing money around?

Johnny Chung and Norman Hsu were unavailable for comment.

Hillary, you really do not want the media to start scrutinizing your campaign’s money trail. You really don’t.

This is a good sign for Obama... if all Hillary's oppo-research team can come up with is he won't impose a healthcare mandate on the American
people, encourages college students to vote legally, fundraises for other Democrats including those who support HER for president, and wrote
an essay about wanting to be president in kindergarten and the third grade, they're never going to regain the lead in Iowa. Is it just me, or has
every attack been weaker than the last?

opensecrets.org is our friend. ;-)

3. Nah, she gave up fighting them a long time ago when she voted for IWR...
Now she's attending Fellowship prayer meetings and giving a thumb's-up to Kyl-Lieberman when she's not attacking fellow Democrats.

4. See, you haven't found anything illegal, have you?
With the best attempt to make a smear, you haven't got anything. Hillary spread money in key states. Gosh. Gosh-a-rooney. Gee. Golly. I SURE HOPE SO.

With any luck, maybe Edwards was able to do a little of that, too.

Obama didn't. WTF is advising him? Green.

But don't you think you were slick to throw in the names of the guys who had their money returned. Guilt by association, the old McCarthy trick.
