1. I was hopeful for Kerry, Gore or Clark....but Edwards will do.
He's no John Kerry, but I still think he's got the best vision for our country out of anyone running.

2. If you are concerned for the middle class, I suggest you look at his actions rather than his words.
His time in the senate is opposite to his words today.

5. Me too. He won me over when he said that when president, he
would appoint a cabinet level person in charge of New Orleans. And every day, " I will ask them - what have you done for New Orleans today?"

Bush's failure with Katring is my number one travesty (after lying about the war).

I was thinking that HRC just speaks - you don't see any passion or soul. Edwards just speaks from from his gut - and you can tell it's real.

8. I hear you. I held out for Gore up until a few weeks ago.
Since then I have noticed Edwards getting stronger. Now in Iowa he is either in the lead or tied for first, and a solid lead for second choice in Iowa (which means something in a caucus).

I pined away for a Gore run. I was so sure that he would eventually run.

After realizing that Gore wasn't going to jump in, I began listening to
the candidates.

I was astounded at what Edwards was saying. He actually talks about
the corruption and how the corporations have rotted the system from
the inside out. He actually dared to say the word "neocon", a word which I
imagine a few of our Dem candidates do not have the courage to speak.

I first listened to Edwards when he was on "This Week". He really
speaks for Progressives. He gets it. He cares about the poor.

Another bonus...Edwards has been away from DC for a while. I loved
that about Gore. Taking a step back enables you to see things...really
see things. Edwards isn't as beholden to corporate interests as some
politicians who have been around for a while. He sees the corruption
and isn't afraid to take it on.

Gore started the DLC, and look at him now. He changed quite a bit...I believe
Edwards has experienced a similar epiphany.

I truly believe that the 04 campaign had a tremendous impact on Kerry
and Edwards. They saw the face of America and they really listened to
our fears about Bush and our concerns for this country. I believe that
Edwards will parlay his concern for the American people into real change
that benefits our country and our people---and that he will be strongly
motivated to unravel the BushCo damage.

Sometimes--the right thing is right in front of your face--even though
you don't realize it. I hope others will really listen to Edwards, because
he is speaking our language.

Edwards gives me hope.

I busted my butt for Kerry-Edwards. I still have the bumper stickers on my car. When John Edwards came to town I volunteered to help with the entourage baggage, missed his rally and screwed up my back in the process. I guess I have a vested interest in at least getting half of the last winning ticket into the White House. I can just cut half my bumper sticker off. I was drifting toward Obama, but you just got Edwards a vote. Keep it up.

24. I don't know why everyone just isn't pushing for that.
IMO, that would be an unstoppable, "take it to the bank" ticket. It would unite two ideologies, both pushing for a reversal from the morass Bewsh left us in. THAT ticket would make much needed gains in the South, wouldn't lose a single 2004 blue state and would win Ohio, possibly even Florida.

19. Very Much The Same For Me
Ideologically DK is closer to where I think we should be
but America isn't ready for that much change.
Al was my first choice for '08, John was second in line(now 1st.)
I like Richardson too but he makes Al look like he's on caffine.
Obama is a good man, but needs more time and experience.
I would like to see him as our UN Ambassador for 8 then..go for it
Biden? Sec. of State
Hillary? May she have a long and productive Senate career!

22. Is there any chance you'd consider Kucinich? Edwards may have the 2nd most progressive platform, but
Dennis has the most progressive.

The Ron Paul stuff is not a reflection of Dennis being a "secret Republican." It's just a sign that he's open-minded. He never advocated Ron Paul as a running mate; he just said his mind was open. Is that really such a bad thing?
