Obama said "foreign relations" NOT "foreign policy"
Edited on Tue Nov-27-07 10:05 PM by calteacherguy
I think the quote — "Probably the strongest experience I have in foreign relations is the fact I spent four years overseas when I was a child in Southeast Asia" — was a play on the words "foreign relations" more than anything else. He developed relationships with people in a foreign countries. If there were a novel titled "Foreign Relations" — you'd instantly get it.

As for foreign policy experience, I'd prefer someone with intelligence enough not so support an unnecessary war. There is no need for a candidate with Clinton's brand of foreign policy expereince in the WH. Obama is supported by emminent historians, military leaders, and foreign policy experts.

Clinton has no monopoly on the claim of being the most effective at foreign policy. What is really necessary for effective leadership is the ability to listen, learn, and make wise choices. That's why my vote is with Obama --- not Clinton.

10. I'm sorry
but for some reason Obama bragging about "Barack Obama country" makes me immediately and unfortunately think of that sadly unforgettable "Joe-mentum" word. Both made me cock my head and kinda go "What the ... ?"

12. When Lieberman said that he just came in 3rd in a "3 way tie" for 2nd I think...
that's why it was so laughable.

8. Meantime, those who are threatened by his standing in Iowa get to demean the value of
an international upbringing and impersonate yokels.

Or maybe they just are yokels.
