I'm thankful for ALL of our fine Democratic candidates.
I'm thankful that we've got such a strong field...

I'm thankful for Hillary Rodham Clinton and the continued leadership her and her husband have showed throughout the years, and the bright future they offer to our country in another Clinton Administration....

I'm thankful for Barack Obama for presenting a new kind of politics, talking about turning the page in America, and preaching the importance of hope over fear....

I'm thankful for John Edwards and the incredible life story he has that's lead him to fight for hard working Americans and the message of opportunity for all he presents to our country in hopes of building one America....

I'm thankful for Bill Richardson for his incredible resume and quite frankily being the most impressive candidate of any party when it comes to qualifications to be President....

I'm thankful for Joe Biden for fighting all these years in the Senate, getting things done, talking tough, and being an incredible Democratic voice that we could use on any national ticket....

I'm thankful for Christopher Dodd for, like Joe Biden, fighting all these years in the Senate to bring change and results to the American people....

I'm thankful for Dennis Kucinich for speaking the truth, showing backbone, and showing the most courage of any candidate....

I'm thankful for Mike Gravel for shaking up the national debate, and for leading in the Congress for so many years with an incredible record....

I'm thankful for Tom Vilsack, who dropped out early, but still presented his voice into the race....

And I'm thankful to John Kerry, Al Gore, Evan Bayh, Mark Warner and others who even considered running for even thinking about stepping up to the plate, putting their reputation on the line to lead this country in a different direction.

I may not agree with all of our candidates on every issue, but I respect and admire them all. I may like some more than others, but they'd all be a breath of fresh air in the White House.

And lastly, I'm thankful that we have less than a year until we elect a DEMOCRATIC PRESIDENT TO THE WHITE HOUSE!!!

;) So I'm pretty thankful this Holiday season. And proud of the field of candidates we have. When the winter season hit's it's coldest cold, we should know who the nominee will be. And I'm thankful that we'll have a strong contender to compete against the scary and Karl Rove-ian nominee on the Republican side.

1. Less than a year until that horrible President and Governor Bush are gone from the White House...
...and the "Permanent Republican Majority" loses even more ground in Congress.

We have a great lineup. Although only one will make it to the White House, I salute the others in their effort to save our union and are thankful that they will support the nominee to victory.

3. Wonderful post!
And I agree wholeheartedly.

There isn't a single one of our candidates who doesn't bring something of value to the table, be it experience, statesmanship, vision, enthusiasm, candor, honest discussion ... the list goes on.

Say what you will about our lineup (and many here have!), but, especially in comparison to what the 'other side' is offering voters, we have a group to be proud of.

Thanks for the post!

5. There is something that I love about each of them.
I still can't decide which one I would vote for. Just when I think I have made up my mind, I hear another of them speak and I change my mind again. I guess it really says something about how terrific they all are. I wish I could put them all in a blender to create the perfect candidate to fix the mess that Bush has made for America. I am going to have the biggest party when that jackass packs his shit and leaves our house!!! Great post. I am thankful you wrote it and reminded me of how lucky we are to have such great choices.

17. Funny, isn't it - The Democratic Party is supposed to be the BIG tent.
Still, we all have our favorites and those we can't or won't support for one reason or another at this point in time...

I believe a lot of what is and will get said between now and the end of February is and will be pure rhetoric. I am sure the great majority will pull together, as always, to support whatever candidate is finally nominated.
