Mayor Resigns, Claims Abduction By Satan Worshippers
CENTERTON, Ark. -- The mayor of an Arkansas town resigned on Wednesday, claiming he was abducted and brainwashed by Satan worshippers nearly three decades ago.

Centerton Mayor Ken Williams said he has been living under an assumed name for nearly 30 years. He had been mayor since 2001.

Williams told authorities he was born Don LaRose and that in the mid-1970s, he was a preacher in Indiana. He said he was abducted and brainwashed into forgetting all about his life as Don LaRose.

It was a double-life he had never acknowledged, Williams said, because he didn't even realize it existed until he had recently taken a truth-serum injection.

2. I think his former wife finally located him
I think his former wife finally located him, and he decided to come up with a story before she went to the media with the real story of how he abandoned his former family. :-)

3. Even more bizarre
The information went public, Williams said, because he runs a Web site about Don LaRose and his disappearance. LaRose's former family found the Web site and started inquiring about its author. They found the site registered to a Ken Williams and went from there.

What are the chances of running a website about the disappearance of a person when, unbeknown to you, you ARE that person? I'm not sure all this adds up.

14. Okay, then
I do think this is possibly the weirdest story I have ever read. The internal inconsistencies are unfathomable. They brainwashed me, but I came back, then I left, assumed another name, got kidnapped again, went a couple other places... How did this guy not get caught before? He's amazingly stupid. He has a real penchant for running away. So, what was he running away from? Debt? Responsibility? A crime? Too, too weird.

You sure do have to watch out for those Satanists - always kidnapping folks! And once they kidnap you and brainwash you once, they're likely to do it again! Oh, dear!

8. it gets better
""What happened in 1980 -- whether it was right or wrong -- I did it under the threat of my family and for my own survival," he said.

The information went public, Williams said, because he runs a Web site about Don LaRose and his disappearance. LaRose's former family found the Web site and started inquiring about its author. They found the site registered to a Ken Williams and went from there.

Williams said his current wife is standing by him and the two of them want to continue living in Centerton. He said he plans to continue living as Ken Williams.

Also, his resignation was signed with two names, he said."

What i want to know is how did he get a hold of "truth serum"?

i'll k&r this because it's just too bizarre...

This is a breaking story about a Social Conservative in very-Republican northwest Arkansas. He abandoned his wife and kids and life as a preacher in Indiana, assumed a new identity, moved to Arkansas, married again, became a mayor and has now been exposed for living under the name of a dead man for over twenty years.

He claims to have been abducted by Satanists and tossed into a van (no mention of it being down by the river). The minions of The Evil One used an electric device attached to his head to brainwash him. Praise Jeebus.

Missing Pastor Found - No One is Thanking God
Posted by JCE

***
For your bit of offbeat news today, Reverend Don LaRose disappeared in the early 80's after having been supposedly abducted by a satanic cult. His story has changed a bit in the last 27 years.

Rev. LaRose left behind a wife and two daughters and was found living in Arkansas working as radio show host and mayor of Centerton, Arkansas. He has been living under an assumed name and is remarried. He took the name Ken Williams and used an identity card of one Bruce Kent Williams, diseased.

He now claims that the satanic cult was, in fact, an underworld crime group and they picked him up, threatened him and his family and then dumped him in Minneapolis with his new identity. At a loss as to what to do, he resumed a new life. Apparently contacting the police or his family was not on his list of ideas and at this point he has still not contacted his family, including two daughters who were teenagers at the time of the disappearance.

He has not offered any insight as to why an underworld crime group was tracking him and maintains that he left to protect his family......sure.

Read here and here for more information.

They might have been a pack of the people who've abandoned the McCain campaign.

Or a FOX News crew.

21. Naah. It wasn't Satanists.
It was aliens from the planet Zephtar. At least that's what the voices tell me.

Proof positive that Republicans should not do drugs. They always pick the really bad ones.

23. the sociopath!
hi all,

I'm new here and actually found this site gogling Don LaRose ! glad I found you !

just to add something here!

The "actual" Bruce Kent Williams was my brother. really! I can't believe this guy ! and he makes me sick! Honestly don't understand how he has not been arrested for the continued use of Bruce's SS card. go figure! Somewhere I read that he also said that in his journeys he had a business and the business partner just happened to be the name of the other boy who died in that car accident with my brother ! must be the satanic cult brought back the other boy while giving LaRose my brother's identification papers (as he claims)

hum!
