2. Okay
1. I'm a student -- this year I will make well under $10,000. My highest yearly salary was close to yours (with insurance).
2. Yes, but it's the crappy plan available through the ABA (see "student"), for which I pay $1600 a year, which I realize is a bargain.
3. Undecided. Really.

3. Sure, why not...
1.How much (aprox) do you make a year? I'll just say that I'm a public school teacher.

2.Do you have health insurance? Yes, it is the only reason I'm still teaching.

3.Who do you support for President? Edwards.

6. OK.
1) No more than $20K, been unemployed for the last 6 months.

2) No health insurance. Last health insurance I had through my employer couldn't be used in the region where I lived in. :eyes: Of course I didn't now that until I went to use it for the first time toward the end of the job. Meanwhie, I paid a bundle for that useless plan. :grr:

3) Kucinich, but among the forerunners I'd be just fine with either Edwards or Obama.

9. I have a question for you...
If you make over 40 a year, and do not have health ins., are you self employed? Or do you work for a company? If you work for a company, why don't you take their insurance?

We love our health care. Also, 3 things to remember the next time you hear RW bullshit about Canadian health care:

#1) There are no wait times for people who need immediate medical care
#2) We technically pay higher taxes, yes, but you're taxed according to your means. If you don't have any income, you're still entitled to the same health care as anybody else
#3) Overall, Canadians only pay a fraction of what Americans pay for health care, because our system is much more efficient and administrative costs are greatly less

By the way, if you ever meet a Canadian, ask them what makes them different than an American, they will say "health care" 99% of the time.

19. Thanks, sounds like it would work *fairly* here too!
Of course taxes will go up, but the Republican boogymen want to keep rewarding the Health Care INDUSTRY.

It gives me more fodder to win arguments with conservatives :D

35. I'm glad you like it because I have some Canadian friends who complain about it all the time
A couple of the complaints I've heard them voice is that they don't think that the quality of health care in Canada compares to that of the States and that you have to pretty much accept whatever doctor they throw at you if you need something done. They also say the waiting times can be terrible in many instances.

OTOH, I have also had other Canadians tell me they don't know how we do it in the States without having insurance for everyone. They think we're in the middle ages when it comes to health care.

So, I guess I hear it from both angles, some Canadians very unhappy with their system and others content.

2. Yes. Part of the premium is deducted from my check every month, and I pay copays, plus anything over a set amount allowed. In 2007, I paid out approx $1500 in copays, not counting the premiums. Which is why I'm 5 years overdue for a pap and a mammogram, and I never made it to a dermatologist to check the morphing freckles on my leg.
3. Dennis Kucinich.

Yes but any spouse I had would be very costly. I get covered for free with mediocre insurance but would have to pay full freight for any spouse or kids.
