How about an nationally coordinated over-night action to wake up America?
Given all that has come to light in recent months regarding high crimes & misdemeanors being perpetrated in our names by the criminals residing in the White House, and the painfully conspicuous inaction of the Democrats in Congress (not to mention the silence of Dem 'front-runners') to address these crimes; I think it's high time we begin thinking and acting outside the box. The Einstein quote comes to mind: "We can't solve problems by using the same kind of thinking we used when we created them."

OK, so I have an admittedly grandiose proposal: A nationally coordinated overnight action to post right-sized stickers on STOP SIGNS with the words "BUSH", "THE IRAQ WAR", "WHITE HOUSE CRIMES" ... (you get the idea) ... stuck just under the word "STOP" that are exactly the same shade of red as the standard "STOP" signs in cities across the nation.

OK, so it is slightly "over the line" in terms of being technically illegal, as in "defacing public property", etc., and maybe a few people would even get arrested, but certainly no more than are already being arrested, brutalized, clubbed and tased for simply wearing the "wrong" kind of T-shirt to a Bush event or attempting to redress grievances from inside barbed wire "Free Speech Zones".

I've had this idea for awhile, but haven't acted on it for financial reasons (can't afford to have very many printed at once), and that the impact of just one person doing it in one city would be minimal; but if it were a nationally coordinated over-night action, it would definitely have an impact.

What do people think of this idea? Maybe it's a dumb idea, but I can't see very many downsides to trying it. At least it's something that hasn't been tried before, and I think there's a good chance it would get covered by media and may have a lasting affect. Besides a few people getting citations, what would be the downsides?

1. Nice, but practically speaking
you'll have to drag too many quasi-hypnotized people away from NASCAR, American Football, Dancing With the Stars and Britney/Paris/Lindsay, etal...all of which apparently take precedence over our Republic free-falling into the muddy sewer of Fascism.

2. Perhaps, but it would only take a handful of people per city to pull it off
maybe 20-30 per city, each with a specific area to cover. Besides, this would need to be done in middle of night, not during prime time TV.

But you may be correct.

3. I suggested some time ago that it time to organize the WTFUA
The "Wake the Fuck Up America" campaign would find out why we are so complacent when we have been dealt nothing but bad news for seven years. I hear people ask all the time, "What is wrong with this country?" Our apathy is serious problem that may have been intentionally induced by the very bastards that are getting away with murder. My friends in other countries cannot understand why we are so powerless to deter a runaway government that we the people supposedly put in power.

4. I saw a poll today that 72% of Americans are pissed at DC
it's not that people don't care or don't recognize that we got major problems in DC; but dissent of any kind is stiffeled and repressed, and people know that too.

That's why I really believe that some kind of national action that is DIFFERENT, creative, not in the been-there-done-that category of protests, letters to whoever, etc. may have an unexpectedly strong impact.

Anyway, thanks for responding. :hi:
