1. No, but they'd be horribly offended and point to the terrible

crime statistics in the US, including the underreporting of rapes and the lack of successful prosecution of rapists, domestic batterers and child molesters.

They would be absolutely correct in that we have a lot to be ashamed for in the treatment of women and their children in this country, too.

However, like most of us found out by the time we were five or so, two wrongs never make a right and pointing out that some other kid did something as bad or as worse than we did didn't lessen our punishment.

Wrong is wrong on both sides.
