Huckabee is Gomer Pyle. Look at his eyes!
Edited on Tue Nov-20-07 01:33 PM by Kurt_and_Hunter
There's an excited but vacant look in his eyes like he is always on the point of exclaiming, "SHAZ-AYUM!"

Not a deep political observation... but if he wins Iowa I would suggest everyone start calling him Gomer ASAP, before he gets any stronger.

2. He had the sense to be in the Marines through the whole 1960s without going to Vietnam

16. Too good! Vince rules! He was only 19 when he made that flick, too and gained a Huckabee of weight.

21. In FULL METAL JACKET he plays a fat, slow, mentally disturbed guy so well that
when D'inofrio became known a lot of folks didn't recognize him as the same actor.

Kind of like Danny DeVito in CUCKOO'S NEST... when I first saw the movie (pre-TAXI) I assumed the DeVito character was played by a real mental patient.

4. He will be the front man, a Baptist preacher to pull in the fundies
Pay extremely close attention to his running mate. That's the corporate hack who will be running the country and making sure no scrap of wealth is left for anyone but the wealthy.

5. Well goll-lee...it's a darn shame, that's what it is.
To take such a nice fella like Gomer and muck up his good name by comparing him to Huckabee.

At least Gomer had a sense of right and wrong, and he did what he knew he needed to do. For that reason alone, he couldn't have been a Republican.

11. I've had the pug race down to Huckabee and McCain for a month
And I think McCain is no worse than 50-50 get the nomination.

Romney and Giuliani may well destroy each other once the negative ads start.

12. I flip between Romney and McCain as the anti-Hucakbee, and HOPE the nom is Rudy
I'm just not sure McCain can get traction anymore...

13. By the time voting starts there will be months and months of polls showing
him the most electable by a good margin.

That may matter to republican partisans. (Since electability is the only reason they're even looking at Rudy)
