it's not possible to be "hard" and "brittle" at the same time

slimy criminal Rove wrote in Newsweek that Hill was 'hard and brittle'.

not possible

so which is it Rove? is she 'hard' or is she 'brittle'?

may Rove fall down and never get up.

2. Rove is soft and plump.
Let's shove an apple in his mouth and have a global pork roast.

It would end world hunger.

4. the funny thing is....
Obama is looking like the more brittle one. And there isn't anything wrong with being "hard" or "steely." If Hillary was all Laura Bush all the time I don't think anyone would believe she had the gumption to be president.

And then let it cool in the pan? Have you ever broken a rock? It's possible. (my response is in no way political).

15. I hate Turd as much as anyone on this board
That's all, just 'Turd'; the blossom is long gone from this specimen.

However, if 'hard' and 'brittle' are mutually exclusive, I may as well throw the sheepskin from my MS in Materials Science in the trash.

16. Most hard things are brittle. Hardness usually comes from a crystalline structure
Edited on Mon Nov-19-07 11:39 AM by Kurt_and_Hunter
like in a diamond.

Crystals are not very flexible because the molecules are arranged in a tight pattern

(That's why diamond cutters can "cut" the world's hardest substance with little taps of a mallet)

Many, many hard things are brittle as well. It kinda goes with the territory. Things that can't bend tend to break.

19. Strong women are often described in these terms.
Strong men "talk tough." Strong women are "shrill." Men in leadership positions "make difficult decisions." Women in leadership positions are "hard and brittle."

It's the same old sexism.
