My take on last night’s debate.
Edited on Fri Nov-16-07 08:10 AM by William769
Two things I wanted to see in last nights debate. More time from the lower tier candidates and Hillary fighting back. I got to see both.

Biden: Biden was the uniter last night He was clear concise and articulate. Speaking in terms of the debate only, Biden showed leadership.

Clinton: Hillary was on fire! When attacked she fought back and that’s what she needed to do. The past two weeks are now a distant memory for her. Last nights debate has cemented her front runner status.. “they are not attacking me because I am a woman, they are attacking me because I am ahead” (that’s a paraphrase).

Dodd: I have to admit I can’t remember any of his answers, So I will just leave it at that.

Edwards: Talk about the biggest loser of the debate, it’s Edwards, not only did he get smacked down he was thrown to the floor. And as for the audience booing him, he got just what he deserved. He may or may not do well in Iowa, at this point it doesn’t matter, his campaign is essentially over, and that to me is a good thing. Hey Edwards is it the gender card or not? What a pathetic performance you gave last night.

Just a not on Edwards, he was my second choice up until about a Month ago, now you can go crawl back under the rock from which you came.

Kucinich: Kucinich was Kucinich, everything he said was correct except for the one gaffe on Including Richardson as everyone on stage. IMHO Kucinich would make a great President, unfortunately he is to far left to get elected (which is a shame). I would also like to add I applaud the job he has brought to the debates.

Obama: Talk about a deer being caught in the headlights. That’s exactly what he looked like in the beginning of the debate, and as for the Obama supporters piling on Hillary about drivers licenses & immigration, I have plenty of paper towels for you to wipe the egg off your face. Obama could not have given a more horrible answer. With that said When Obama decided it was not working attacking Hillary, and backed off he actually did pretty good.

Richardson: I haven’t really paid much attention to him until this evening, He will definitely get more of my attention. I also thought he had the best one liner of the evening, (“give peace a chance“).

All in all it was a good debate The two who went on the attack early (and we know who they were), were not only smacked down by who they attacked, but Blitzer also smacked them down as did some fellow candidates, kudos to them for putting the debate back on tack.

On EDIT: Typo on Obamas name, spell checker in Office I did not catch it till it was pointed out to me.

2. I thought Dodd did quite well
And he and Richardson both seemed to have more time to speak in this format -- at least at the times they were actually called upon! Given the time to answer without a clock, I kind of tired of Richardson I'm sorry to say, but Dodd seemed sharp and clear in his answers and highlighted his knowledge and experience.

Biden is easy to listen to, isn't he? He's got a kind of easy-going style that's very appealing.

I pretty much agree with your main points on the rest. I wouldn't rule Edwards out yet, though -- you just never know what's going to happen in Iowa!

3. Don't get me wrong, I am in no way smacking down Dodd.
I honestly don't remember his answers. I did not take note I was trying to watch the debate as the average person would.

4. No no, I understand
I was just looking for points where I saw something different from you, since I agree with a lot of what you said! (Plus I'm originally from Connecticut, so I pay attention to Dodd.) :hi:
