Let's talk about the Nevada caucus and its impact on the race
First some questions,

Is the caucus system in NV similar to IA?

Is the caucus still on track to held between the IA and NH contests?

Now, will it have an impact or will it just be a footnote?

1. Have the candidates been campaigning in NV?
Other than the Las Vegas debate?

3. Off topic, but
What is happening with Michigan? Is it having its primary on January 15, before Nevada?

5. Edwards lost his NV campaign startegist to Shaheen.
Richardson has been making the biggest push in NV though his polling is still a shade under double digits.

7. My WAG on the Nevada caucus....
I think the Nevada caucus won't have much of an effect. It's new and I think people won't really be paying it a lot of attention. The big show in Iowa would have just happened and the next big show in New Hampshire will be about to hatch. Also, Nevada isn't going to have a lot of delegates.

Now -- watch everything I just said get proved wrong in the real deal.....

9. No, I have a similar feeling in terms of its newness and attention given to it.
Though I think whoever wins NV will be able to add to the momentum of a IA win or slightly blunt a non win in IA going into NH.

14. That and the fact that Nevada and South Carolina will be holding their
contests on the same day, January 19th, the MSM will have to decide which state to pay the most attention to, and my money is on SC. Nevada will still be reported, but to a lesser extent than SC.

10. The person who ran Iowa's 2004 caucuses is organizing Nevada's 2008 caucuses
Jean Hessburg - so I'd bet that they will be very much like Iowa's (but I can't guarantee it).

As of today Nevada is still set to go on January 19th. Iowa is set to go on January 3rd and New Hampshire is still set to go on January 22nd (but will probably change). South Carolina is still set for January 26th but has requested a waiver of the DNC to move up to the 19th b/c of Florida's move).

Michigan is in Limbo b/c a judge has ruled that the law which determined the that primary date was unconstitutional. http://www.guardian.co.uk/uslatest/story/0,,-7057961,00.html
