One undeniable advantage of having Hillary as our candidate
Edited on Wed Nov-07-07 06:56 PM by cuke
The repukes won't be able to feminize her the way they did with Gore (remember the sweaters?) and Kerry and if they masculinize her, it will make her appear stronger

1. HAHAHAHA true that
I am hoping the Repukes end up pissing off 50% of the population and sending them to Hilary with their hate

2. That is a good point.
I expect a lot of lesbian type accusations, but who really cares?

3. I can always appreciate those who believe in Pollyanna - there's always a silver lining to every
cloud! Sometimes you have to be really creative to find it...!

:hi:

I just hope we don't have to find out if your optimism is spot on.

4. The Repubs will attempt to portray Clinton as too weak
to face the rigors of the Presidency because she is a woman, which may just backfire on them with women voters (53% of the electorate). I half expect Giuliani, if he is their nominee, to pick a woman running mate to lessen the appeal of Hillary to women voters.

5. I agree (about the attacks, not RG's vp choice)

and I expect that to fail after years of attributing almost supernatural powers to her

11. Ghouli, or any of them, would be stupid not to pick a woman as a running mate.
But I wouldn't put it past them.

7. What a stellar observation, cuke.
The GOP feminizes Democrats that are men.

And then they masculinize our women.

No wonder every Republican is a closeted homosexual. That's all they think about.

16. Did the Repukes try to feminize Bill Clinton? Or did they obsess about Monica? Which?

17. Good point
I don't know about feminizing Bill, but they certainly tried to portray him as "unmanly" (ex draft dodger) and the 1st thing they did after he took office was to attack him over gay rights

9. They will try to play the gender card, as they always do,
but it will backfire on them.

They will accuse her of representing the "nanny state." But the harder they push that anti-female meme, the more women are going to get their collective backs up.

And women comprise 54% of the electorate. And 75% of women in New York State voted for HRC -- which had to include MILLIONS of Republican women -- leading to a huge win overall. (It more than made up for the few Democratic men who didn't vote for her.) New York is considered a "blue" state, but it has had plenty of Republican governors and Senators, and Hillary's numbers were much higher than most state-wide winners. I think if she gets to the general, she will surprise many with her strength.

10. Hillary is not "our" candidate. She is one out of eight candidates.
Sorry to disappoint you, but Hillary's coronation has been postponed awaiting the will of the voters.

15. GOPs couldn't do ANYTHING without complicity from corpmedia and a few Dem
voices who almost ALWAYS popped up to support Bush and RW memes from 2001-2006.

"People will vote for strong and wrong over weak and right."

Uh - WHO was it who used his war hero creds to defend Clinton from draftdodging charges in 1992 campaign?

18. She will be very strong and capable, there's little doubt about
that. Honestly, I don't understand the vituperation against HRC. She is not my favorite candidate (Biden is), but I would not be ashamed at all to have her as our president. She's extremely bright and I trust her to do the right thing.
