Saddened by what I hear on Thom Hartmann show.
He frequently plays clips of past presidents
Jimmy Carter
Roosevelt
JFK
etc.
- the intelligence and strength of leaders such these are staggering.

Then I hear President Fumblenuts today.
Stutter and stammer and lightly laugh.
What the hell happened?

1. * was sold to the electorate as an imbecile, like them
He was presented as a stupid loser who got rich even though he never worked a day in his life, as a hopeless drunk and cocaine addict incapable of uttering a sentence. He is the envy of the entire Limpballs and Fox "News" audience - a complete slacker and dunce who made it to the top.

3. Guess I'm wondering how he was chosen to gain access
I understand now why the Egyptians in history scratched out any reference to a particular ruler.

I can relate -
Nixon was bad but no where near the level of Bush.
When I hear those old sound clips it's like those men spoke in some other United States.

4. you know, i was thinking about just that the other ... somehow, next to the bushes, Nixon does not
seem half as bad, and he was bad enough.

5. This was predicted by Menken.
Here is his quote-

"As democracy is perfected, the office of president represents, more and more closely, the inner soul of the people. On some great and glorious day the plain folks of the land will reach their heart's desire at last and the White House will be adorned by a downright moron."

American society is nothing if not predictable.
