In hindsight (always 20/20) Biden was the most presidential
during last week's debate.

Why? First, he did not join the gang in attacking Clinton but mostly because he pointed out, correctly as we now know, that it was Pakistan, not Iran, than needs our close attention.

As Clinton has done in previous debates, he, too, chose to stay above the internal bickering and to concentrate on the big issues.

Just as Kerry had a "good story" of being a Vietnam veteran who could protect the country post 9/11, so did Biden show that he understands foreign affairs in times when foreign affairs are important, whether some like it or not.

I think that if Iowa caucus goers would like to slow Clinton's march to the front - and I have nothing against her being the nominee - they should vote for Biden. At least, this will make the race more interesting and will let all the candidate to talk in terms of the general election.

2. Biden really stands out in debates. His answers are more in-depth than anyone elses.
After the debate, Matthews interviewed him. He too was trying to get Biden to bash Hillary. Biden wouldn't do it. All he said was that he found a couple of her answers confusing.

I was proud of him for taking the high road.

9. And he has demonstrated that he can learn
His "foot in the mouth" disease is gone. He has mastered the art of being concise and to the point.

5. I think if Biden comes out of Iowa with some notable momentum,
enough to give the news media pause and reason to make it one of their daily talking points, Biden will be very hard to stop. Once people start getting to know who he is and comparing him to the other candidates, I believe it will be hard for people to conclude that we'd be better off with one of the other candidates as our next president, especially considering how the world around us continues to spin out of control.
