I've Imagined Barack as President
I believe in the success tool of imagining the result you want.

The result I want is a Democratic President of the USA. Hopefully Hillary Clinton.

So sitting in a chair, not bed, I try to Imagine everyone of our candidates taking the oath of office then sitting in the Oval Office addressing the nation. As a graphics person I'm perhaps better at the imagination and visualization thing than most but everyone should try it.

  • I've Imagined Joe as President.
I can see Joe Biden proudly taking the oath of office.
  • I've Imagined Dennis as President.
I can see Dennis Kucinich and Elizabeth dancing at the inauguration ball. Everyone wants a dance with Elizabeth.
  • I've Imagined Chris as President.
Chris Dodd is tough but I can see him behind the desk speaking to the nation about the value of required public service.
  • I've Imagined Barack as President.
Barack Obama, in my imagination, gives the most eloquent inauguration speech ever and leaves the country and world feeling, well,, warm.
  • I've Imagined Bill as President.
I hear Bill Richardson's radio press conference as he answers every question and some he should ignore.
  • I've Imagined John as President.
John Edwards I see with his hand on the bible he actually reads. A good man ready to lead a good people.
  • I've Imagined Hillary as President.
Hillary is easy for me because for years I've pictured her inspecting the troops as Commander In Chief. Not one snicker on the faces of the Generals or troops.

Try imagining all our candidates as President and just maybe you'll see what others see.

7. I've tried that and the only one I can see taking the oath
of office on January 20th, 2009 is Hillary Clinton, I just can't picture any of the others actually taking the oath. I actually prefer some of the others to Hillary but just don't see them making it all the way. Incidentally, unfortunately, I can also see Rudy Giuliani taking the oath. Ugh! What a vision that is.

22. wow
That's rather incredible. At least Huckabee helped with poverty, education and the environment. I suspect once he realized how ridiculous the Iraq war actually is, he'd end that as President too. As for Romney and Giuliani, I don't think Romney would be as punitive and we need a change there as well. For the ones with a remote chance, Giuliani is the worst of the bunch.

20. By negative, do you mean critical?
And in a Democracy, are we not to critique our candidates prior to electing them?

23. By negative, I mean blanket negative.
There are many who don't have a single good thing to say about any Democrat here at "Democratic" Underground.

24. Objective critique is not allowed here. Critical evaluation of Democratic candidates...
must include at least one of the following phrases:

1. "________ is no better than a republican"
2."_________ eats babies"
3."__________ is a gigantic poopie head"

14. Al Gore: Prince is enticed to re-release "1999",
with the new lyrics, "We're gonna party like it's 2009!" in response to the month-long mega party celebrated by the entire planet after Gore wins 90% of the popular vote.

State of the Union address to the nation. It is an interesting exercise.
