Why Did John Edwards Mislead America On Iraq
http://www.cfr.org/publication/5441/
My position is very clear: The time has come for decisive action to eliminate the threat posed by Saddam Hussein’s weapons of mass destruction. I am a co-sponsor of the bipartisan resolution we’re currently considering.--John Edwards October 2002

It is an absolute certainty that the mass media was lying to America about Iraq's WMDs before the invasion. This can be known because Scott Ritter published an analysis before the war.
http://www.twnside.org.sg/title/twr147e.htm

Now it can be argued that this analysis does not prove that Iraq did not have WMDs, but it does prove the media was lying. The media did not discuss the issues in this analysis before the war. Read the report. It is pretty obvious that these are the key issues.

In the speech referenced above John Edwards also said "We know that he(Saddam) has chemical and biological weapons today, that he has used them in the past, and that he is doing everything he can to build more. Every day he gets closer to his longtime goal of nuclear capability. We must not allow him to get nuclear weapons."

How can Edwards make this statement in view of Scott Ritter's report?

Edwards supporters apparently justify all this by stating since they were fooled into believing that Iraq had WMDs, they can understand how Edwards was fooled. If you did not read Scott Ritter's report and you just listened to the mainstream news media, I agree that it would be easy to be fooled. If you carefully read Scott Ritter's report before the war it was pretty obvious that the media was selling a bill of goods.

But Edwards was on the Senate Intelligence Committee, how could he be fooled with the information that he had. Did he not bother to be informed before pushing for war? Is this not major incompetence or what is it?

Here is Senator Dick Durbin on WMDs in Iraq and the Senate Intelligence Committee. He voted against the IWR and he was on the Senate Intelligence Committee.

1. That's from October 7, 2002
Isn't it true that the information the White House provided Congress was all lies? Or did the White House give the truth to a few and they lied about it? Also, which presidential candidate did not believe or think attacking Iraq was a good idea?

3. Because he was running for President and
the Iraq War was not unpopular enough to win the general election by opposing it.
