The lady who cried wolf and then changed her story...a rebuttal fairy tale...
Edited on Sat Nov-03-07 09:03 PM by ddeclue
There once was a blonde lady villager who lived in a village. Her husband had once ran the village with great success but because of the twenty second rule of the village he was required to give up his position as tribal chief after 104 moons had passed.

Unfortunately the village passed into the hands of another, much less able chieftain from the far right side of the village who then accused other far away villages of wanting to attack the blonde lady's village and who frightened its villagers into making war upon these far away villages. This war ended up unnecessarily costing the blonde lady's village much treasure and costing the lives of many of the young warriors in her village.

Fortunately, the new chieftain who had so badly mismanaged and misled the village was also subject to the twenty second rule of the village and would soon be required to relinquish his position as the forty two other chieftains prior to him had always done since the adoption of the twenty second rule.

Many villagers from both the right side and the left side of the village wanted to take the role of the village chieftain including the blonde lady. One night at a tribal council when trying to pick a new chieftain, the blonde lady who wished to follow her husband as village chieftain was asked the question by the villagers:

"Is there a wolf just outside the village on the trail to the neighboring village".

They were concerned about the possibility of a wolf on the trail because occasionally a villager would take the road to the next village and would not return.

The blonde lady replied "I think there is probably a wolf...yes there's probably a wolf on the trail...but wolves are very clever predators so we can never really be sure...it is possible that there might not be one.."

The villagers were confused at this answer. They asked the blonde lady again "Is there a wolf or isn't there?" She answered them that "wolves are dangerous animals and we should think about killing them if we see one."

Finally, villager Timothy asked the blonde lady "Please can you be clear - if there is a wolf on the trail should we kill it?" The blond lady answered "I am opposed to the rush to kill such a wolf which may or may not be there". Timothy and the other villagers were confused by so many unclear answers from the blonde lady.

In the end Timothy and the other villagers just walked away from her and decided to talk to other villagers who came forth saying that they also wished to become the next chieftain.

In the end the villagers from the blonde lady's village decided that another villager from the left side of the village named John who had been the son of the village weaver actually would make the best choice for the 104 moons to be allotted to the next chief under the 22nd rule of the village.

You see the weaver's son had given clearest, wisest and most compassionate answers to their many questions about how to run the village before the tribal council where the blonde lady whom everybody originally thought would become chief had first cried wolf and then changed her mind.

The End..

9. I made it all the way through.
That blonde lady sure is hard to pin down. Where does she really stand on the wolf? Is there really a wolf? if so, who is feeding it..., and why?
