He's still doing well in Iowa polls, and he's just NOW running his first major TV ad there.

If you think Edwards stands no chance because he's in third place, and isn't raising money hand over fist like Hillary or Obama, look back in your history books.

John Kerry should be a lesson to every Democrat.

The nomination process isn't over till we've nominated someone.

And I have a dozen snickerdoodle cookies from my momma's recipes that says he'll win it ;)

1. The 2004 Red Sox were down 0-3 to the Yanks in the ALCS.
Edited on Thu Nov-01-07 12:49 PM by Basileus Basileon
They famously came back to win it.

That does not mean, however, that every 0-3 team should be seen as having a good shot to win a best-of-seven. Possible, perhaps, but still extraordinarily unlikely.

Edited on Thu Nov-01-07 01:16 PM by DemocratSinceBirth
The fact that it has only happened once in the history of baseball and never in a NBA championship series is telling...

8. I think President Edwards
has a wonderful ring to it - The speech he gave the other day was the speech of a President, did you know - the Edwards campaign doesn't employ a speech writer? That was all Edwards, 100%.

never vote for Hillary. This is not news.
Edwards has the best chance of winning.

10. Agreed. I think the top three are all in good positions.
Obama, Clinton and Edwards all three have a good chance of winning the nomination.

12. As long as John Edwards raises enough money to stay in the race,
he has raised enough money, period. From then on, it's a race for votes, not a race for money.

What is a snickerdoodle cookie, by the way?

21. Not a single vote has been cast.
We're how many weeks away from the caucus?

So many are declaring the race over. I think a lot of people are going to be surprised by the results, both on the Democratic and Republican side.

Edwards 2008!

22. He's not dead, but he's definitely on the downslope
I haven't heard too many people say he's dead, so that's really more of a strawman argument. The bottom line is that he's been passed in the polls in Iowa by both Clinton and Obama and trails everywhere else.
The fact that he hasn't run any ads is directly related to his lack of funds. That'll continue to be a problem for him.

That, and he doens't come across as ready to be President. It's the truth. It's why he's not polling better.

32. I think i's something some people SAY. But I think they say it knowing it's not true.
and they say it because they're trying to color people's perception of something that Edwards actually does well -- which is connecting with people.
