Rasmussen- Election 2008: Obama vs. Giuliani and Thompson
The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani with a very slight edge over Illinois Senator Barack Obama, 45% to 43%. The same survey indicates that Obama is just a single point ahead of former Tennessee Senator Fred Thompson

This internecine warfare isn't helping any of our candidates...I watch the Pug and Democratic debates...It seems the Pugs spend a lot more time attacking Democrats and the Democrats spend a lot more time attacking other Democrats... I understand the need to highlight the differences ...I don't understand the need to help the Rethuglicans...

1. I'm very much with you on the last part
The amount of bashing of other Democrats is getting to the stage where I need
earplugs for some peace and quiet. It's getting to the point where the nut case
right is having their work done for them--either that, or they're doing it here
themselves, although I don't think there's much of that. The radical right tends
to either rave like lunatics, or try and be overly rational to the point of being
blatantly phony (e.g. David Brooks, Jeff Jacoby). The bashing here of Obama/HRC/Edwards
seems more emotional but from people who really feel what they post. If only the
energy were channeled positively to the ones they support instead of against the
ones they oppose, but maybe that's just not the nature of the beast. After all,
Al Gore should have waltzed into the White House in 2000, and Nader should have gotten
0,75 of the vote. The tragic thing was that a huge percentage of the "no difference"
crowd really believed it at the time.

Meanwhile, I don't really pay any attention to polls this far out. There is
too much that can happen between now and then.

2. Obama's And Clinton's Negatives Are Going Up
I suspect Edwards' negatives will be going up as well...

3. Looks like we need to stick to our guns and nominate a winner - John Edwards.

4. At this point, I would be fine with Edwards as our nominee
But I could live with Obama, Dodd, Biden, or HRC as well.

I'm interested in reading why people support one or the other.
I'm not interested in reading post number 1,999 about why one or
the other is bad news. Not only are they repeating themselves ad
nauseam, they are not in the least informative as to which candidate
is better. They all have their good points, and anyone who says that
any of them are on a par with Giuliani, Thompson, Romney, or McCain
is barking up the wrong tree trying to get me to buy it.

5. The Last GOP Debate-- Their Candidates attacked each other
In fact Rommney and Guilliani really went at each other.

Yes they do attack Dems also.

Our Group is so obsessed with Bush they let the Republicans
have a free ride.

If our candidates do not attack each other, the decision is made
Hillary is our candidate. The others should just drop out now.

We may not like our candidates attacking--if they do not practice
the GOP will literally destroy whoever is our candidate.

Part of being a candidate is being able to take a punch.
