To the people complaining about the UFO question.
Don't you think that if somebody claimed to have received instructions from a UFO, that would be relevant in their desire to become president? Don't you think that's on the same level of being able to ask a candidate whether they think that God talks to them? I love DK as much as the next person, but the UFO thing is undeniably a bit kooky if he really experienced what the book says, and not the sanitized version he related last night.

2. I've missed this whole flap but really, I'd rather elect someone
Edited on Thu Nov-01-07 02:02 AM by sfexpat2000
who has experience with UFOs than someone who chases mythical WMDs with the bodies of our children. It's not even a CLOSE choice.

we'd be mocking him mercilessly for it.

5. I don't care
Unless said person is running around saying the UFO told him/her to kill people or otherwise do them harm, I don't give a shit.

Ditto for the God question. If their beliefs are not impacting my life or the lives of others it's nobody's business but theirs.

7. I agree
I also think the comment about moving his HQ to Roswell was a joke but it did not come across well because he said it with no change of expression. He should not do deadpan humor.

8. Cmon. The man did not say he "received instructions", only that
he saw something flying he couldn't identify. Nothing "kooky" about it at all except the spin.

9. Au contraire Mon Frere!
Kucinich, she writes on page143-144 of the book, "had a close sighting over my home in Graham, Washington, when I lived there. Dennis found his encounter extremely moving. The smell of roses drew him out to my balcony where, when he looked up, he saw a gigantic triangular craft, silent, and observing him. It hovered, soundless, for ten minutes or so, and sped away with a speed he couldn't comprehend. He said he felt a connection in his heart and heard directions in his mind." http://blog.cleveland.com/openers/2007/10/kucinich_see_ufo_new_book_clai.html

I would like to know what directions were imprinted in him. How to get to the closest 7-11? or something more sinister?

10. It's a Shirley McClain book! I'd need another source on that one.
Now, do I think it odd that he's so close to Ms McClain? Well, that's a thinker. This still doesn't sway me however, he's still my guy.

11. Bingo
Dennis Kucinich saw something in the sky once that he could not identify, and this qualifies him as being insane in the view of the "serious people".

14. By this postulation, Buzz Aldrin, and others, are as "crazy" as DK...
YouTube - Astronaut Buzz Aldrin Recounts Apollo 11 UFO
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XlkV1ybBnHI
=============
Astronaut hero Buzz Aldrin says a mysterious flying object shadowed the first manned mission to the Moon in 1969, according to a shocking new documentary.

"There was something out there, close enough to be observed," says Aldrin in "Apollo 11: The Untold Story," which will be broadcast tonight by Britain's Channel Five.

"Now, obviously the three of us weren't going to blurt out, 'Hey, Houston, we've got something moving alongside of us and we don't know what it is,' you know? We weren't about to do that, because we knew that that those transmissions would be heard by all sorts of people and somebody might have demanded we turn back because of aliens or whatever the reason is."

Aldrin says NASA covered up the UFO encounter. The Apollo 11 mission of July 1969 remains the highlight of manned space exploration, 37 years later.

It's just the latest bizarre news to come from mankind's first visit to the Moon.
