First half hour of "Hardball": Debate was apparently about nothing except driver's licenses, UFOs

The first is a state issue, but, according to Chris Matthews and Pat Buchanan, one debate answer re. New York Governor Spitzer's driver's licenses for illegals proposal is Armageddon for Clinton and Democrats if she is the nominee. UFOs? I really don't know how this issue "landed" in a position of such importance -- or why a question concerning them was asked of Ohio Congressman Kucinich.

Iraq? Iran? Social Security? Health care?

Here we go again, with press coverage of campaigns in this country. Best case scenario: people wise up to the type of hysteria stirred up by such as "Tweety" Matthews, and begin to dismiss the self-satisfied Tim Russert smugness that allows a question about UFOs, aimed at embarrassing a candidate, in a Presidential debate.

5. The CNN coverage I've seen today

has put it into perspective and hasnt been trying to make it into something it isn't. I was shocked to hear Candy Crowley speaking intelligently about it. I remember her Bush apologist days sooo well.
