"JOE IS RIGHT"
Political Rivals Agree -- "Agree with Joe Biden"; Pundits Take Notice

Philadelphia, PA (October 30, 2007) - Following this evening's MSNBC/Democratic National debate at Drexel University in Philadelphia, Biden for President Campaign Manager Luis Navarro issued the following statement:

"Tonight, Joe Biden proved once again that he is the Democrat most capable of leading the country and taking on the Republicans. While the other candidates were picking on each other, Senator Biden was laying out the case to the American people as to why we need a leader with the breadth and depth of experience to tackle the inter-related problems of a dangerous world."

"The phrase most often heard on the stage tonight was, "Joe is right," followed closely by the phrase, "I agree with Joe." And only one candidate showed clearly that he is ready to take on Rudy Guiliani and the GOP. That candidate was Joe Biden and the evidence tonight was incontrovertible."

1. My problem with Biden is that in the past he has made some egregious errors
Rubber-stamping Clearance Thomas for example.

14. He also got the majority of Dems to vote against Thomas as well.
It's turned out to be a he said/ she said discussion.

15. You're not the only one - many people assume because of the flap they've
heard that he voted for Thomas.

Are you 'named' after John Taverner?

There is so much misinformation out there about the Clarence Thomas nomination.

16. Biden presided over the hearings
which is fine with me. And he voted against Thomas. He presided over the hearings for Bork too.

17. I think the main complaint raised
was the ending of the hearings before additional witnesses came forth.

I watched most of the hearings, as much as I could, it was a pretty big deal to a lot of folks when that hypocritical RW tool got on the SCOTUS. Plus I was incensed at the smear job they did on Anita Hill.

Anyways.. thats ancient history.

4. There were a couple answers I didn't like (edited)

The China toy thing was overboard in terms of the reality of today.

Talking about how many kg of enriched uranium Iran might have seems to minimize the fact the one nuke is just about as bad as 10. Its not so much a I disagree that Iran is being over-hyped to some degree, but that he opened himself up to some real nasty attacks from the right in a GE by giving them some talking points.

On edit: Other than that, he was quite good.

6. I like the way he equated the Iran resolution
to the increase in gas prices. That is something that most people hadn't thought of and it affects everyone.

9. that's because you are so anti-biden, jim. I don't know why you dislike him. You are like the only
person on du who goes out of his way to diminish his achievements and blow any shortcomings out of proportion. What is your deal, dude? Are you watching these debates? It's not even freaking close who the smartest, most straightforward one on the stage.

We'd be glad to welcome you into the biden camp as soon as you come around : )

11. I do not dislike him in fact
I think I understand his strengths and weaknesses. I was a Biden fan of sorts when I first saw him in the early days of CSPAN.

I'll let you know. :)

10. Biden has an almost impeccable record- considering he's voted on over 12,000 issues
during his career. C'mon people- we are nit-picking Biden here. He voted against Thomas and also was issued an apology from the Dukakis camp that destroyed his name during his first run. he's not a cheat.
Biden is someone I would trust if a nuke or anything else threatened us. He is the strongest and most experienced candidate we have running. Someone of his caliper should be calling the shots. The man's a genious. I would trust him to lead us down the right road and turn this country around again in the right direction. No doubt in my mind that Biden would make this a better place for us ALL.

13. I guess it is inevitable that we would tend to nit-pick
candidates after the nightmare of the past seven years. That is probably a good thing as long as we aren't petty and we focus on the issues that really count. I think Biden can pass the scrutiny and come out ahead of the others.
